| Swimmers keep track of times so that they can assess their personal progress and set new goals. What are USA Swimming Motivational Times? USA Swimming establishes motivational times for swimmers in every age group based on relative speed within that group. They give swimmers a measure by which to sent goals and track improvement. Motivational times progress from the longest times to the shortest: B > BB > A > AA > AAA > AAAA Motivational times are set in a "quad," or a four-year period. The most recent are the 2024-2028 times. What are Indiana Swimming Time Standards for Divisional and State Championships? Indiana Swimming has time standards of its own; a swimmer must swim a time equivalent to or faster than a qualifying time to be eligible to swim in a Divisional or State championship meet. The Age Group standards are divided into several categories: 0-10, 11-12, and 13-14. For older swimmers, there are Senior Divisional times and State times. There are also time standards for Open Water events. What are the Time Standards for Other Elite Meets? There are a number of national-level, "elite" meets that require very fast times.
