Summer Swim League

June 3-July 26, 2024

The Summer Swim League is an 8 week program designed to introduce kids ages 4 and up to the sport of competitive swimming and prepare them to join our competition team in September. Participants will learn Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Freestyle, racing starts, and much more!

Why Join a Swim Team?

There are many wonderful reasons your child should participate on a swim team. We here at Kraken Swimming help all our athletes and their families benefit from all that the sport of swimming and Kraken Swimming have to offer.

Life Skill - Swim team is a fun way to teach your child a life skill. Your child learns proper stroke mechanics, breathing techniques, and competes in a competitive length pool – all while they’re learning a valuable life saving skill!

Friendship - Children on swim teams create lifelong bonds with one another. Training together, competing together, supporting each other through hard times, and celebrating each other's accomplishments creates relationships that cannot be found anywhere else.

Teamwork - Although swimming itself is usually an individual sport, swim team creates a team environment for your child to belong. Your kids receive early life lessons on how to win (and lose) as a team, how to give it their best, and how to exhibit good sportsmanship.

Fitness - While most kids spend their summers watching TV or playing video games, your kids will have weekly swim team practices that improve their cardiovascular fitness and helps keep them healthy. Swimming is an excellent workout since it works your entire body and is easy on the joints. Unlike some sports, swimming is a fitness routine your child can do well into adulthood.

Practice Schedule:

We offer two (2) practice times for you to choose from to better fit your schedule!

All practices run Monday - Thursday for 90 minutes

Option 1: 12:30-2:00 pm

Option 2: 5:00-6:30 pm

Swim Meets:

We host two (2) meets throughout the summer for our swimmers. These are mock meets designed to introduce the swimmers to how meets operate and allows the coaches to track the kids' progress.

  • ​First Swim Meet - Friday June 28, 2024​
  • Second Swim Meet - Friday July 26, 2024

Program Cost:

$100 per Swimmer - Charged at the time of Registration

All swimmers will receive a t-shirt and Kraken Swimming latex cap.

What's Needed at Practice:

  • One-piece, competition style swim suit
  • Goggles - no scuba masks
  • Swim cap
  • Towel

Discounts for Multiple Swimmers:

  • 2 Swimmers: $10 Off
  • 3 Swimmers: $30 Off
  • 4-5 Swimmers: $55 Off

 

Registrations will open on Monday May 6, 2024 and close on Friday June 7, 2024.

Swimmers must be able to swim a full length of the pool, unassisted, in order to participate in the Summer Swim League.
