THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS OF NES!
NEW ENGLAND SWIMMING THANKS THE VOLUNTEERS OF 2010
CONOCOPHILLIPS 2010 VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR:
Mariella Allard was the 2010 recipient of the USA Swimming Conocophillips Volunteer of the Year Award. For 20 years, Mariella has been an integral part of New England Swimming’s Board of Directors. She has served as the Technical Chairman for the last three years and has been the Clerk of Course at all Championship meets for the last 15 years. She knows the USA Swimming Rule book inside and out and completes all of her tasks with energy and a positive attitude! Mariella loves to interact with all of the swimmers, coaches and members of the LSC and we are proud to congratulate her on this outstanding award!
Mariella received the award at the New England Senior Meet, in December, from General Chair, Laura Matuszak.
NEW ENGLAND VOLUNTEERS
New England Swimming could not function without its many volunteers who work tirelessly to provide a healthy, competitive, and successful swim environment for our LSC. We asked the clubs to nominate volunteers to be recognized at our October House of Delegate’s Meeting, and the below people were selected to receive a certificate and service pin with our thanks!
KEN GALICA (NWSC) : Ken has been a volunteer with NWSC for over 10 years as a Meet Director and Official. Despite the fact that his daughter has already graduated, Ken continues to be an active member of NWSC and New England Swimming. Ken was also instrumental in regaining access to the U Mass Lowell pool after decades of being shut out of allowing competitive swimming at their site.
LINDSEY D’ANGELO (NSYV): Lindsey has worked tirelessly as an “office” volunteer. She created the team icon and has worked diligently to make the organization run smoothly. Lindsey is the team Registrar, member of the board, and a leader on deck during swim meets. Lindsey never says, “no”, and is always there to help.
MARY ELLEN TYNAN (PSC): Mary Ellen coordinates all the team events, basic traveling arrangements and is always the first to help out during swim meets. She has taken on managing the new team website and registration, and assists the head coach with team entries and organization. Mary Ellen is also the Secretary on the NES Board of Directors and works tirelessly to help our LSC run as efficiently as possible!
THANK YOU TO ALL OF OUR VOLUNTEERS WHO HELP NEW ENGLAND SWIMMING TO BE THE BEST IT CAN BE!
(We will be asking for more volunteer nominees in April, before our May Annual HOD meeting)
