SPLASH AND DASH MEETS (pdf)
Splash and Dash meets are Sanctioned meets in which all the swimmers are USA Swimming registered swimmers. Splash and Dash meets must be completed within 2 hours of the competition start time.
- The requirements for the number of officials are the same as 102.10.4 for Dual, Developmental, and Intrasquad meets (no fewer than the following):
- At least 2 Officials: one of which is a Referee who can act as a stroke and turn judge
- 1 Starter who can also act as a place judge and stroke and turn judge.
- 3 Timers per lane (one minimum if automatic timing equipment with touchpads is used)
- 1 Administrative Official
- Timing Equipment Operators (as needed)
- 2 Marshals, with at least one of each gender
- Sanctions may only be issued to a member club or to New England Swimming itself.
- All policies within the Policies and Procedures of Competition apply to these meets, with the following exceptions:
- A meet bid is not necessary for Splash and Dash meets. Sanction requests must be submitted no later than 7 days before the first date of the meet. All other bid requirements remain in effect.
- A flat sanction fee of $125 per meet applies to each meet. No additional surcharges are due to New England Swimming.
- The framework, methodology, and penalties of the Four/Five Hour Rule, as defined within the Policies and Procedures of Competition apply, however, are applied to the maximum session length of two hours.
- A Club may only host one Splash and Dash meet per day.
