COACH of the YEAR Votes needed
New England Swimming Coaches,
In past years, the New England Swimming coaches have selected a peer to be named the Age Group Coach of the Year. With much thought and consideration, the NE Swimming coaches committee has decided to refine the criteria and has created two new awards to acknowledge the success of coaches in New England both in and out of the water. These two awards focus on development and performance, respectively, and are dedicated to two coaches in our LSC that truly dedicated their lives to the sport of swimming, and who we decided to shape the criteria around.
‘Jeff Johnson’ Award: Developmental Coach Award
This coach is recognized for their great work and achievements in bettering the athletic abilities, values, and overall character of their athletes and program. This coach has demonstrated growth and development from their athletes, not only in the sport of swimming, but as individuals.
‘Dorsi Raynolds’ Award: Coach of the Year Award
This coach is recognized for their achievements in the sport of swimming throughout the last year. This coach has demonstrated consistent and successful performances from their athletes, and dedication to the sport of swimming as shown through the growth of their entire program and through their support of the New England Swimming community.
Any coach can nominate a colleague. Nominations will close
Sunday, July 14, 2019.
Nominated Coaches will be vetted by a nominating committee based on the criteria provided. Finalists will be voted on by ballot with each team receiving one vote. The winners will be announced following the 13-18 Age Group meet at Brown.
The coaches selected will receive a Lifetime membership to USA Swimming as a gift from NE Swimming.
Thank you,
Meg Feran and Todd Bohannon
