RECORD BREAKERS!

The Following Records were broken at the 2022 NE SCY Senior Championships at Brown University

INDIVIDUAL EVENT RECORDS:

Josh Parent, ABF,  broke both the Open and 17-18 as well as the Senior Meet record in the Men’s 1650 Freestyle with a time of 14:56.60.  This breaks the previous record held for 35 YEARS by Alex Kostich (BGSC) of 15:02.63 set in 1987.  This was the second oldest record in NE Swimming.

Gerhardt Hoover, CS, broke the 13-14 Men’s 200 Breast relay with a prelims time of 2:04.27 and then again in Finals with a time of 2:04.19.  This breaks the previous record of 2:04.43 set in 2017 by Maxwell Reich of PHX

RELAY RECORDS:

Thomas Powers-Hammond, Josh Parent, Zuri Ferguson, and Jaqueline Zipagan, ABF, broke both the NE Open and Senior meet record in the Mixed 200 Free relay with a time of 1:27.50.   This breaks the previous open record held by ESC Relay of Matthew Crane, Cameron Watelet, Grace Walker and Isabella Tagliaferro time of 1:29.44 set in 2020.  This also establishes a Senior Record as one did not exist

Zuri Fergeson, Syd Abild, Kristina Dipietro and Jaqueline Zipagan, ABF, set a new NE Open and Senior Meet record in the Women’s 200 Free Relay record with a time of 1:42.55.  They broke the previous record of 1:42.58 held by Phoenix Swimming Malia Amuan, Kate Handley, Michaela Chokuerva and Caroline McCurdy set in 2021

Michaela Chokureva, PHX, broke her own 17-18 50 free record with a new time of 22.79.  This breaks her pervious record of 22.93 set in 2021.  This also breaks the NE Senior meet record of 22.84 set in 2014 by Rhi Jeffrey also of PHX

Isabella Schneider, Skylar Knowlton, Elissa Kim and Michaela Chokureva, PHX, set a new Senior Meet record in the Women’s 400 Freestyle with a time of 3:24.04.    This breaks the previous record of 3:24.44 set in 2019 by PHX relay of Martino, Callahan, Amuan and Chokureva

Bradley Watters, Christopher Xia, Anna Boemer and Mena Boardman, SOLO, broke the Mixed 200 Medley relay Open and Senior Meet Record with a time of 1:36.06.  This breaks the pervious Open and Senior Meet  record of 1:36.72 held by Daniel McLaughlin, Christopher Xia, Anna Boemer, and Sydney Kang also of Solo set in 2021

Amy Benson, Brianna Cong, Anna Boemer, and Mena Boardman, SOLO, broke the NE Senior Meet record in the Women’s 200 free with a time of 1:32.53.  This breaks the previous record of 1:32.98 set in 2021 by PHX Chokureva, Amuan, Martino and McCurdy.
