The following Records we set at 2024 NE Senior Champs this weekend at Brown University.

NE RECORDS:

  • Mena Boardman, CS, broke the Meet, 15-16 and Open 50 Freestyle record with a time of 22.27
    • This broke the meet record time of 22.79 set in 2022 by Micheala Chokureva, PHX
    • This broke the 15-16 NE record time of 22.66 set in 1989 by Olympic Gold Medalist Jenny Thompson, SSA
    • This broke the NE Open record time of 22.56 set in 2014 by Olympic Gold Medalist Rhi Jeffrey, PHX
  • Sarah Zhang, REV, broke the 13-14 200 Breast NE Record with a time of 2:14.75.  This broke the previous time of 2:14.77 set in 2006 by Laura Sogar, ABF
  • William Mulgrew, SAC, broke the NE 17-18 1650 Freestyle record with a time of 14:52.61.  This breaks the previous record time of 14:56.60 set by Josh Parent ABF in 2022
  • The Commonwealth Current Mixed Relay team of Briana Cong, George Groves, Mena Boardman, and Rudd Day broke the Meet, NE 15-18, and NE Open Mixed 200 Medley Relay with a time of 1:35.14
  • This broke the Open and Meet Record of 1:36.06 set in 2022 by SOLO
  • This broke the 15-18 NE record set in 2023 by PHX.

MEET RECORDS:

  • Alexei Avakov, PHX, broke the Senior Meet record in the 200 Breast with a time of 1:56.98.  This breaks the previous record time of 1:57.20 set by Nick D'Innocenzo MAG set in 2008
  • The Commonwealth Men’s Relay of Gerhart Hoover, George Groves, Nicholas Cavic, Rudd Day broke the 200 Medley Senior Meet, 15-18 and Open records with a time of 1:30.09
    • This broke the meet record time of 1:30.90 set in 2018 by ABF
    • This broke the NE 15-18 and NE Open record time of 1:30.56 set by CRIM earlier this year
  • The Commonwealth Men’s Relay of Hoover, Groves, Cavic and Dudd also broke the Senior meet record in the 400 Medley with at time of 3:18.76.  This broke the previous record time of 3:20.31 set by BGSC in 2023
  • The Commonwealth Mixed Relay team of Rudd Day, Nicholas Cavic, Briana Cong, Mena Boardman broke the Meet, NE 15-18 and NE Open Mixed 200 Free record with at time of 1:27.36
    • This broke the Open and Meet Record time of 1:27.50 set in 2022 by ABF
    • This broke the 15-18 time of 1:28.20 set in 2022 by PHX
  • William Mulgrew, SAC, broke the Senior Meet record in the 800 Free with a time of 8:59.77.  This broke his record time from last year of 8:59.85
