TUNA SAFE SPORT RESOURCES

TUNA is committed to providing a safe environment for all of our athletes. To that end, TUNA has appointed a Safe Sport Coordinator, Eric Neese, to assist athletes and parents in voicing their questions and concerns regarding the Safe Sport program. He can be reached via EMAIL or at 612-443-7713. TUNA has also put in place numerous policies and procedures that are meant to foster an environment that is safe for all athletes.

USA Swimming and the U.S. Center for Safe Sport have reporting systems to deal with Safe Sport concerns. Comprehensive information is available HERE

SAFE SPORT TRAINING COURSES

The TUNA board of directors has set the bar for all of our athletes, ages 13 and up, and their parents to complete Safe Sport training by May 15th, 2024.

Please note – there is mandatory Safe Sport training for all swimmers ages 13 – 17 on Wednesday, April 10th, 2024. The training will be held at Osseo Middle School from 5:30-6:30 PM (see practice calendar).

TEAM TRAVEL

Typically, TUNA does not travel to meets as a team. The majority of our out of town meets are one day trips. In the case of an overnight out of town meet, parents are responsible for their swimmers travel and lodging. In the instance of a swimmer traveling and/or staying with an adult other than their own parent, the appropriate travel forms (below) must be submitted as per MAAPP (see link above). Should TUNA travel as a team, the appropriate permission forms will be distributed at that time.
