WHAT IS SAFE SPORT?

USA Swimming’s top priority continues to be keeping our athletes safe. No form of abuse, including child sexual abuse, has a place in our sport. As a part of our continued commitment to safeguarding our athletes, USA Swimming has enacted enhancements to our Safe Sport policy and education requirements. Please read the following policies that safety standards to limit one on one interactions between adults and minor athletes. 
All USA Swimming Member clubs are required to implement the Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy (MAAPP)
by June 23, 2019. 

All USA Swimming Member clubs are required to implement the Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy (MAAPP 2.0)
by September 1, 2021. - Updated information below as of July 7, 2021

Adult Participant - These policies appy to Adult Participant. Read the document to learn the FAQ's on Adult Participant
Adult Participant ▪ All USA Swimming non-athlete members and adult athlete members; ▪ Participating non-members (e.g. meet marshals, meet computer operators, timers, etc.); ▪ LSC and club adult staff and board members; and ▪ Any other adult authorized to have regular contact with or authority over a minor athlete. Collectively “Adult Participant)”
