In this page you will find the following information:

We do not require any type of tryouts for our program.  Athletes are welcome to join at any point during a season.  We open registration for our upcoming season for all members in the middle of the current season.  (i.e.  Spring Registration will open in mid- February)

Click on the Team Registration button on our home page to begin registration.  Follow the on-screen instructions.  You will be required to fill out the follwing pieces of information:

1.      Membership Registration Form

2.      USA Swimming Registration

1.  What swimming equipment/gear does my child need?

  • Our swim team does not require any specific gear for swimmers at this time beyond the basics.  They need a swim suit, goggles and a cap.  The swim cap will be provided by coaches on their first day of practice.

2.  How do I contact a coach?

  • The best way to speak to your child's coach is via e-mail.  The e-mail addresses for each coach can be found on our website under the coaches button on the home page. If more is needed after the email, the coaches will set up a time to talk on the phone or before or after practices.

3.  What are the different seasons my child can participate in, and how do they differ?

  •  We have four seasons, Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer.  The fall season is September-early December, winter season is swum from mid-December to early March, spring season runs from March-end of May and is done indoors in short course pools.  The summer season is swum from early June to early August and is done both in short course pools and long course pools, outside.  Other clubs/programs only offer a fall/summer season, we however offer 4 season.  We offer 4 seasons to allow kids to have the opportunity to play or participate in other sports.

4.  What is the difference between a long course pool and a short course pool?

  • A long course pool is a 50-meter pool.  Internationally most people swim in a 50-meter pool.  This size of a pool is used in the Olympics.  We train in this size pool during the summer at the Bob Welch Aquatic Center.  We also compete in pools this size during the summer.
  • A short course pool is a 25 yard pool or a 25 meter pool.  Here in the U.S. we swim in 25-yard pools most of the time.  Our pool at the Winona High School is in a 25 yard pool.  25 meter pools are rare but they do exist.

5.  How will I know about practice changes ?

  • If practice is going to change, we will always post that change to our Facebook page and  send out an e-mail as soon as the decision is made.  We will also make a news event on our webpage.
