Swimmers' guide

As a member of the Team, you are expected to conduct yourself in a courteous and professional manner at all times. The Coaching Staff reserves the right to take appropriate disciplinary action, including suspension, dismissal, or expulsion from the Team, in order to enforce the rules and ensure that the Team standards are upheld.

Practice and meet rules

  1. Swimmers must participate in their assigned practice slot unless they have confirmed with the Coaches.
  2. Check in with the Coaches.
  3. No horseplay or running at any time.
  4. Respect property while in building - both home and away.
  5. No drinks allowed on deck except for reusable water bottles. (Beverages like protein drinks and gatorade are meant to be consumed after a workout. Only water should ever be drunk during a workout.)
  6. Do not leave the deck without permission from the Coaches.
  7. Team suit and cap are to be worn to meets only. You must have one or more practice suits and caps.
  8. Bring proper equipment to practice and meets (cap, goggles, towel, water bottle, etc.).
  9. Swim caps must always be worn when in the water.

Disciplinary policy

When a swimmer is misbehaving, disobeying the Coaches' orders, distracting other swimmers, or being otherwise disruptive, the following actions will be taken:

1st action: Swimmer will be spoken to by Coach(es)

2nd action: Swimmer sits out of practice and family will be notified by Coach(es)

3rd action: Swimmer is suspended from the Team (practice and meets) until a meeting with Coach(es) and family is held. Depending on the severity of the offense, the penalty may range from a formal write-up to immediate dismissal from the Team.

4th action: Swimmer is suspended from all Team activities for 2 weeks.

5th action: Swimmer is dismissed or expelled from the Team. No refund of fees is given.
