Head Coach
Kate Tiedemann
Kate’s swimming career started at age 5 at the Rye Golf Club, where she swam for 12 years, served as Team Captain for 2 years, and helped earn Conference and County Championship titles. Kate swam for both the Rye YMCA and Greenwich YWCA (Team Captain and Y Nationals winners). As a scholarship athlete all 4 years at Fairfield University, Kate served as Team Captain during her junior and senior years and was inducted into the Fairfield University Hall of Fame. As a Masters Swimmer, Kate was a USMS Nationals finalist. Kate has coached swimming at the Greenwich YWCA, Manursing Island Club, Shenorock Shore Club, and as Assistant Coach for Iona College’s Men’s and Women’s Team when the Men won MAAC Championships. For 3 years, Kate served as Co-Head Coach of the Rye YMCA Masters evening program. This is her 17th season as Head Coach of the Rye YMCA Waveryeders Swim Team.
