Adam Mania, 2004 Olympic swimmer, took time out of his home town visit to motivate GNST swimmers. He competed for Poland in 2004 in Athens, Greece, and has since switched allegiance to the United States. Adam will be competing in the 2012 Olympic Trials in Omaha, Nebraska.

Congratulations to Aimee Fisher (age 15), Andrew Nelson (age 19), and Carly Twehous (age 15) who competed at the 2011 USA Swimming Central Section Region 8 Summer Long Course Speedo Championships (Sectionals) in Columbia, Missouri, from July 20-23. Region 8 comprises of 5 LSC’s (Arkansas, Midwestern, Missouri Valley, Oklahoma, and Ozark) which includes the best swimmers from 7 states (Arkansas, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and Oklahoma). Gnst rocked the blocks at the 2011 ACAC Rock the Block meet in Ames, Iowa! Our 19 swimmers braved the cold and rain to take 2nd place! Another Midwestern Record was set by Dannie Dilsaver with a time of 5:34.37 in the 11-12 girls 400 IM. Way to go, team!
