Junior Prep Level 1
Junior Prep Level 1 is designed specifically for young athletes who are 12 years old and younger who are new to the competitive swimming environment. Our primary goal is to enhance their stroke techniques in freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke while also helping them develop a love for swimming. To be eligible for this program, swimmers should be capable of independently swimming 25 yards of backstroke and freestyle with a kickboard.
Junior Prep Level 1 participants will learn the basic coordination of freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, starts and finishes, flip turns for freestyle and backstroke, and underwater butterfly kicks. By consistently attending 80% or more of the practices, most swimmers can expect to advance to the next practice group within 6 to 8 months. However, it's important to note that some athletes may require additional time to master the skills. Attendance plays a fundamental role in the athlete's success.
Any swimmer interested in joining one of TYDE's Prep groups must start with a TYDE Placement Evaluation. You can learn more about our upcoming placements HERE.
