Green (Ages 13-18)

Practice Attendance Requirement: minimum of 4 practices per week, maximum of 5 practices per week

Practice Length: 90-120 minutes

Equipment Necessary: fins, snorkel, pull buoy, paddles, kick board, water bottle

Competition Expectation: participation in all home Flyer meets for short course season, 3 away meets and must swim at the state meet. Long-course swimmers must participate in 1 home Flyer meet, 1 away meet, and the state meet.

Group Description: While a minimum of four practices a week is required, five practices per week is recommended. Swimmers should be focusing on improving technique and fine-tuning both race and pace strategy. Green group swimmers will be expected to be accountable for their practice habits and competitive performances. Green swimmers should be self-motivated to become better all-around swimmers and willing to receive and apply feedback from the Flyers coaching staff.

Swimmers in the green group will be required to compete in all events in their age group, potentially multiple times throughout the season.

Green swimmers need to have multiple State Qualifying times in their respective age groups.

Swimmers who have completed one (or more) high school seasons are not automatically placed in this group. Times achieved during the high school season will be considered but are not what group placement in the Green Group are based on.

Team Accountability Requirement: Swimmers must wear West Fargo Flyers gear at least one day a week at school (HS gear does not count). The swimmer must complete athlete education selected by the coaching staff and the goal-setting document each season. Green swimmers must work with the Platinum group and the Flyer coaching staff to come up with and complete a community service project each season.
