December TEAM Brief
Hello Storm Families,
As we look toward the end of our first half of the season. I can not express to you how proud of your swimmers and this team. It has been an exciting and productive first 16 weeks of our season! The coaching staff has reflected on these past weeks and have seen strong growth, excellent team culture, and a commitment to improve that has us fired up for Part 2 of our SCY season! Please read below for updates and information for this month.
1) Meet Wrap Ups: We one meet wrap up for you since last month. Senior Championships are just a day away and we will update you on that after the first of the year along with a Swimmer reflection after competing at U.S. Open earlier this month. If you are on Instagram, look for @ymcastormnh updates this weekend as the swimmers will do takeovers and keep you up to date as we race at Seniors, our final competition of 2025!
2) Storm Competition schedule and sign ups: As we close out competitions for 2025, it is a great exercise to reflect back on the past year and how much progress your swimmer(s) have made. Take a few minutes and chat with your swimmer about their meets and the growth they have made this season and/or this year. We look forward to 2026 with excitement and anticipation. Below are our upcoming meet registration deadlines.
CRA February Last Chance Trials Finals, Register by 12/23/2025
New England Swimming Bronze Meet, Register by 12/23/2025
New England Swimming Silver Meet, Register by 1/06/2026
Northern New England District Meet, Register by 1/06/2026
YNS Specialty Last Chance Meet, Register by 1/10/2026
Of special note - when it comes to meets with qualifying times -if your swimmer is available to swim, go ahead and sign up your swimmer. We will put them into events they qualify for - or maybe use them as “relay only” swimmers. Please do note that we can not enter swimmers into championship meets past entry deadlines so it is best practice to go in and register for those meets now!
3) Practices: The Merrimack facility pool will be closed from 12/22/2025-1/10/2026. We have been able to adapt our schedule to offer practices to all groups through this period. Please see linked practice schedules (broken out by groups) for your swimmer(s) schedule during this time. All practices are now updated in SE as well.
5) Winter Break and Holiday downtime: All groups will have one or two practices off the week of 12/22 to give the coaches and swimmers time to recharge and celebrate the holidays with family. Please also note that the STORM administrative office will be closed 12/22/2025-1/5/2026. During this time, please direct questions to your on deck coach. Thank you and Happy Holidays!
