Eligibility 

-       Ages 10 & up

-       Regularly attends swim meets

-       Good attendance in Silver Group

 

 

Behavior and Accountability

The athlete demonstrates a higher level understanding of sportsmanship and treats teammates, parents, coaches, and competitors with respect.

The athlete listens to the recommendations from the coaching staff and focuses to implement the appropriate changes.

The athlete behaves in a manner that is safe to themselves and their teammates on the pool deck and in the pool.

 

Work Ethic and Self Discipline

The athlete will be ready to start practice on time with the appropriate equipment.

The athlete is attending meets regularly and understands the importance of being on time for team warm ups.

The athlete is learning how to push themselves to work harder at practice.

The athlete knows how to count the yardage and repeats of a set.

The athlete will communicate with their coach if they are not able to attend at least three practices a week (60% attendance).

 

Time Management

The athlete is learning to balance school and outside activities; maintaining 60% practice attendance while completing their homework on time.

Legal in all four strokes.

 

Pushes off the wall in a streamline with increased number of dolphin kicks with increased speed and efficiency for freestyle, backstroke, and butterfly.

 

Performs effective headdown finishes.

 

Performs effective individual and relay starts.

 

Executes a breakout stroke in Butterfly, Backstroke, and Freestyle

  • Push off by holding the streamline position

  • Initiate a dolphin kicking action

  • Breaks the surface of the water with one arm pull in freestyle (no breath on first stroke) and backstroke

 

Executes breaststroke pull downs off every wall.

 

Executes flip turns at all walls in Freestyle and Backstroke.

 

Executes legal open turns.

 

Can execute a race start and relay start from the blocks.

Can execute a legal 100 of each stroke and 400 IM.

 

Can complete a 90 minute practice, averaging 4500 yards per practice

Is attending meets regularly.

Knows how to read the clock and keeps track of repeats of sets.

Recognizes the correlation between practice times and competition times.

Athlete follows discussed race plan.

Athlete understands nutritional requirement and timing to Fuel for Performance

Can complete 10 x 100 freestyle on 1:30 interval or better.
