Platinum Group

Eligibility

-       Ages 12 & up

-       10 x 100 @ 1:30

-       10 x 50 kick @ 1:00

-       5 x 100 IM @ 1:40

-       Good attendance in Gold Group

-       Invitation from coaches

 

Practices

-       5 days/week, 1.5 hrs/session

-       Athletes should make 5-6 practices/week

-       Additional dryland activities to build added strength & flexibility

 

Emphasis

-       Continued technique development

-       Continued development of aerobic system

-       More advanced skill & speed work development/USRPT

 

Yardage

-       3000-6000 yards/session

-       Interval training and USRPT sessions become more essential

 

Performance Goals

-       Obtain 3 Junior Olympic standards

-       Obtain at least 1 Far Western standard

-       Continue to refine stroke technique

-       Continue to refine skills: underwaters, turns, starts, race strategies, etc.

-       Begin to swim 200s of all strokes, 500 free style and above

-       Compete in all team events offered
