BREMERTON — The tradition of competitive swimming has returned to Bremerton's Kitsap Family YMCA, while the Silverdale Haselwood Family YMCA is set to begin a tradition of its own. Both facilities began swim teams in January, bringing the total amount of area team to five. Olympic Aquatic Club in Bremerton, Puget Sound Swim Club in Port Orchard and Bainbridge Island Swim Club are the others. Bremerton Y's Avery wins regional title Bremerton YMCA's Leah Avery won the 200-yard individual medley at the Boise (Idaho) Regionals last week. It's the first meet for the Bremerton and Silverdale YMCA's, which established club swimming in January. Avery won the title in the 13-14 age division in 2 minutes, 23.87 seconds.
