Bremerton YMCA swim team's Isaiah Snow was named to the Pacific Northwest All Star team this week. Snow is among eight swimmers in his age category (11-12) in the Pacific Northwest Swimming region selected to compete in Santa Rosa, Calif., Jan. 5-6. Snow will compete on an all-star team against other swimmers from the Pacific Swimming (PC), PNS, Oregon Swimming (OR) and Southern California (CA). Bainbridge Island Swim Club's Lia Campbell won two events this weekend at the 14 & Under Pacific Northwest Swimming Championships. Campbell won the 100-yard freestyle in 52.31 seconds in the 13-14 year-old division and the 200 free in 1 minute, 53.84 seconds at the King County Aquatics Center in Federal Way. She also placed third in the 500 freestyle. Eleanor Beers of the Poulsbo Piranhas Swim Team won the 10-under 50 butterfly. Beers won the event in 31.38. Bremerton YMCA Swim Team's Sam Lingenbrink secured a second event for the YMCA Nationals next spring. Lingenbrink, who already qualified in the 200-yard backstroke for the meet in April, will also swim the 100 backstroke after setting a qualifying time at the recent Husky Invitational at Kitsap County Aquatic Center in Federal Way. Lingenbrink's qualifying time came in the leadoff of the 400 medley relay, which set a club record of 4 minutes 10.53 seconds. The leg lowered her club record of 58.63. Alicia Carlin, who swims for the Bremerton YMCA Swim Team, won the 50-yard freestyle at the Tacoma Swim Club's November Age Group Invitational last weekend at Wilson High School. Carlin won the event in 25.96 seconds in the 15 & Over division. Teammate Samantha Lingenbrink won the 200 free in 2 minutes, 2.35 seconds in the same age division. Bremerton YMCA Swim Team members Samantha Lingenbrink, Kody Mears, Kellen Meyer, John Carlin and Alex Clithero each won individual events at the Puget Sound Swim Club's Fall Back Splash, held last weekend at South Kitsap High School. Lingenbrink won the 200 freestyle, 50 free and 100 butterfly in the 15 & over girls division. Samantha Lingenbrink, a Central Kitsap junior, became the first Bremerton Family YMCA swim team member to qualify for the YMCA Nationals in more than two decades. The club team was re-started in January. Lingenbrink qualified for the short course nationals in the 200-yard backstroke at the Olympic Aquatic Club October Challenge swim meet last weekend. Members of the Bremerton YMCA swim team won several events at the Fall Intro Swimming meet, hosted by the Poulsbo Piranhas Swim Team at the North Kitsap Community pool over the weekend. YMCA's Samantha Lingenbrink won the 50-yard backstroke, 200 back, 50 free and 200 free in the 13-over category. Kellen Meyers won the 50, 100 and 200 free and 50 breast in the 11 and 13-over category, and Mikayla Polzin (11-over) won the 100 free, 100 breast and 200 individual medley. Bremerton/Kitsap Family YMCA swim team members John Carlin and Kellen Meyers swept their events at the Olympic Aquatic Club Summer Splash Swim meet last weekend. Carlin won the 100-yard freestyle (57.99 seconds), 50 butterfly (30.19), 50 back (31.37) and 50 free (26.18) in the boys 11-12 year old division. Meyers won the 100 free (51.19) and 50 free (23.17) in the boys 13 & over division. Danielle Bodlorick and Nicholas Carlin each earned high-point honors for the Bremerton YMCA swim team at the April Invitational 12 & under pentathlon last Saturday at Peninsula High School in Purdy. The short-course meet required swimmers to compete in all five events and scores were based on the fastest total cumulative times. Bremerton Kitsap Family YMCA's Sarah Avery won six individual events at the Dive Into Spring swimming meet last weekend at the North Kitsap Community pool. Avery, competing in the 13-and-over category, won the 100 freestyle, 200 free, 50 free, 50 breaststroke, 100 breaststroke and 200 individual medley. She was also second in the 200 breast.
