OCA's Tyler Alderman will join Pacific Northwest Swimming's (PNS) All-star team headed to Roseville, CA for the Western Zone Age Group Championships August 7-10. Tyler will represent PNS and compete against the best 14&under swimmers from 14 western states. Way to go Tyler-swim fast and have fun!

Five OCA swimmers will join the Pacific Northwest Swimming All-Star team competing at the North American Challenge Cup August 8-10 in Federal Way. Melanie Bantle, Noah Davis, Alex Williams, Sabriana Kwan, and Lindsey Seidner will join other swimmers from the region to compete against all-star teams from Mexico, Canada, Northern California, and Southern California.

OCA will welcome a swimmer from Grenoble France to its senior training group next week. This is a start to what the team hopes will be a long term program of exchange of coaches and swimmers between the two teams. The 16 year old boy, Francios, will spend two weeks training with OCA and be hosted by one of the team's families. It will be a great learning opportunity for Francios and all OCA swimmers-in and out of the pool. OCA hopes to send swimmers to Grenoble in 2014.

Head Coach Alice Godfred is traveling to Vancouver, BC with tweleve swimmers this weekend for the Mel Zajac International/Canada Cup. OCA swimmer will compete in this World Championships tune up event at the University of Bristish Columbia with 500 top swimmers from the US, Canada, Australia, Japan, and Korea. Attending (in addition to OCA superstars):will be most of the 2012 Canadian Olympians, as well as several Olympic Stars from other countries including Ryan Lotche and Elizabeth Biesel from team USA. OCA's Lindsey Seidner was one of 28 12-13 year old girls invited to USA Swimming's Western Zone Select Camp which will take place May 30-June 2, 2013 at Arizona State University in Tempe, AZ. Lindsey was selected based on her IMX score (a measure of performance in six events) during the summer of 2012. OCA alums made a big splash across the country in the last few weeks as the college swimming championship season comes to a close. On February 8th OCA, as a team, will swim the distance between the Olympic and Cascade mountain ranges, which is approximately 157 miles. The goal of the event is to have fun and raise funds for the OCA Foundation. Funds raised will be used for financial assistance (need-based scholarships) for swimmers, team travel meets, team relay fees, volunteers support, team social events, and to support USA Swimming.
