Membership
Can we visit the pool before we decide about joining?

I am not sure about joining. Will I lose the opportunity to join if I wait to decide?
Yes, based on the overwhelming demand for membership in the past several years. Registration will open to returning families only from March 1 to March 31. On April 1, registration will open to everyone (new and returning members). Registration will close once capacity is reached.
Can our nanny/babysitter/grandma take the kids to the pool?
Yes, caregivers (i.e. grandparent, nanny, babysitter) may take your kids to the pool in your absence. When you register, add the caregiver as a family member.
Are swim lessons included with a Family Membership?
Yes, swim lessons are included with membership. See the Swim Lessons section below for details.
Is swim team or dive team included with a Family Membership?
There is an additional fee to participate in swim and/or dive team. See the fees HERE.
Membership Fees
High Point Swim Club (HPSC) is a membership-based, not-for-profit outdoor community pool. HPSC relies on revenue from membership fees to cover the high cost of basic operating expenses to keep the pool running. HPSC fees and are in line with or lower than other private pools in the area, and none of the private pools offer à la carte or limited-use family membership options. The nearby public pools such as Goodman and Middleton have a larger operating budget, so they can offer lower membership rates, more membership options, and even daily rates. These are options High Point Swim Club cannot offer.
My child is not interested in swim lessons or swim/dive team. Do we still need to pay the Family Membership rate?
Yes, families are required to pay the Family Membership fee. If you don’t wish to purchase a family membership, the nearby public pools offer pool memberships without these options.
My child would like to join swim team but won’t use the pool at other times. Do we still need to pay the Family Membership rate?
Yes, all families are required to pay the Family Membership fee. If you don’t wish to purchase a family membership, the nearby public pools offer swim team without a pool membership.
Can I get a pool membership for just my child since no one else in our family will use the pool?
We do not offer “Kids Only” memberships, but if your child is age 18 or older, they may sign up for a Single Adult Membership.
I can’t get to the pool every day. Can I get a weekend membership or buy a package of passes?
We do not offer limited-use or pay-as-you-go memberships. If you don’t wish to purchase a membership, the nearby public pools offer daily rates.
Can I bring guests to the pool?
Each membership receives 10 free guest passes per year. Additional guest passes may be purchased for $5 each.
Open Swim
When are open swim hours?
Open swim times are generally:
- Mon.–Fri. 1:00 PM–5:00 PM and 7:00 PM–9:00 PM
- Sat. and Sun. 12:00 PM–9:00 PM
These times are subject to change when HPSC is hosting a home swim or dive meet.
Can my child go to the pool alone?
Children under age 13 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian or someone 16 years or older except during swim lessons, swim or dive team activities, or with manager approval.
Can I bring guests to the pool?
Each membership receives 10 free guest passes per year. Additional guest passes may be purchased for $5 each.
Swim Lessons
Is there a separate fee for swim lessons?
Free swim lessons are included with pool memberships.
When are swim lessons offered?
In a typical season, swim lessons are offered Mon.–Fri. 10:00 AM–1:00 PM and 5:30 PM–7:00 PM. Each lesson lasts 25 minutes. There are four, 2-week sessions of swim lessons from mid June to mid August. See more details HERE.
What types of lessons are offered?
In a typical season, HPSC offers 9 swim lesson levels including Parent/Tot class, 3-to-4 Year Old class, and levels 1-7 classes. There is also a Basic Water Safety (BWS) class, a stroke clinic class and a diving instruction class. All classes are taught by HPSC lifeguards. See more details HERE.
When can I sign my child up for swim lessons?
Registration takes place the week before each lesson session begins. Members receive notices about lesson signup via the pool newsletters. See more details HERE

Can I get a single membership for my child so they can join swim team?
We do not offer “Kids Only” memberships. If your child is age 18+ they may sign up for a Single Adult Membership, but this does not include the option to participate on swim or dive team.
Is there a requirement to join swim team?
For safety reasons, children (ages 4 to 18) must be able to swim one length of the pool (25 meters) unassisted.
Is there a requirement to join dive team?
Children ages 10 and under are required to perform 3 dives, and children 10 and up are required to perform 4 dives before the first dive meet in June. Children who wish to join the team but are not able to complete the required number of dives will be asked to attend dive lessons. Once divers achieve the minimum dive requirement they may return to team practices.
Is there a deadline to sign up for swim or dive team?
Yes, the deadline to register is May 26, 2023.
When are swim and dive team practices?
In a typical season, practice is Mon.–Fri. with the option to attend practice during the morning OR evening session.
- Swim team practice is broken out by age group and takes place Mon.–Fri. between 6:45 AM–10:30 AM and 5:00 PM–7:00 PM. Practice sessions vary in length based on age group.
- Dive team practice is in 2 age groups and takes place between 9:30 AM–11:30 AM and 5:30 PM–6:30 PM.
Are children required to attend team practice every day Mon.–Fri.?
There is no requirement for children to attend practice daily. However, the best way to improve stroke technique and speed is by attending practices regularly.
Are children required to participate in swim and dive meets?
There is no requirement for children to participate in meets. However, if a child wishes to compete in the Madison All City competition at the end of July, they must compete in 3 meets before the All City meet.
Do we need to purchase a team swim suit?
The team swim suit is not required, but most team members do purchase one. The team suit encourages team spirit and unity and makes it easier for coaches and parents to recognize our swimmers, however, it is perfectly acceptable to wear a swim suit from a past year, a suit that is similar to the team suit, or whatever your child prefers.
Can I get a refund if I sign up for swim team but need to cancel?
If you wish to cancel your registration and receive a refund, you must notify us by the end of the first week of regular season team practice (i.e. by June 17).
Lap Swim
When can I swim laps?
Two lanes are available for lap swimming during open swim hours. In a typical season, open swim times are generally:
- Monday – Friday 1:00 PM–5:00 PM and 7:00 PM–9:00 PM
- Saturday and Sunday 12:00 PM–9:00 PM
These times are subject to change when HPSC is hosting a home swim or dive meet.
Additional lap swim times are available on Sunday mornings. Check the Daily Schedule for details.
Miscellaneous
Can I have food delivered at the pool?
Yes.
Is there a concessions stand?
Yes.
Doe the pool have a grill and may I use it?
Yes, a grill is available for members to use.
Can I use the basketball hoops in the pool?
Yes.
Can I bring a floatie to the pool?
For safety reasons, floaties are only allowed only on designated Floatie Nights, which are most Tuesday and Thursday nights during the month of August.
Can I host a birthday party at the pool including people who are not pool members?

Does the pool offer Water Aerobics?
Yes, but the 2023 schedule has not been determined yet.
Does the pool offer Water Ballet?
