Rules and Procedures*

*Changes possible due to COVID PHMDC Guidelines

The following rules and regulations are for the protection and benefit of all members. Any failure to comply with these rules shall be considered sufficient cause for immediate suspension of pool privileges for a period of one to 7 days. Successive violations can be considered sufficient cause for cancellation of the family or individual membership.

Children will be held accountable for their behavior, and will be asked to leave the water or the pool if necessary. Parents are requested to remind their children of the rules before they come to the pool, and to remind their children to obey instructions of the Pool Manager and other employees.

Members are welcome to report any unacceptable behavior to the staff. The HPSC Staff will act decisively and consistently to deter any disruptive activity or persistently negative behavior.

Pool Management reserves the right to establish other rules to protect the health and safety of pool members.

Member Obligations:

  1. Members must identify themselves at the front desk by signing in upon arrival during open swim period. A membership sign-in computer (tablet) is located at the desk for registering members and any guests. Pool staff will be present at the front desk to assist in registering members and guest.
  2. The cost of any property damage will be charged to the responsible active member.
  3. Annual membership dues must be paid in full by season’s opening.  Once membership dues are paid, electronic guest passes tied to the membership will be placed on file in our computer system. Guest passes carry over from previous years and can only be used if the member owning the pass is present.
  4. A family membership at the pool includes his/her spouse and unmarried and dependent children under the age of 21 who may use the swimming pool. Other residents of a member’s household may use the swimming pool but only as guests. At the Pool Manager’s discretion, this rule may be waived for member’s children who are 21 and over and are full time students who are home for the summer. Contact the Pool Manager to request such an exemption.
  5. If you suspect that someone is using the pool without authorization, please contact the Pool Manager.

Guest Fee Rates and Rules:

Guests are welcome at HPSC during recreational swim hours, when accompanied by a member. An electronic guest pass is kept on file in our computer system and can be used as needed during check-in of the member and their guest(s). Guest fees per person as follows:

  1. Conduct of guests is the direct responsibility of sponsoring members.
  2. Babysitters and caregivers do not need to pay or use a guest pass to be on the pool deck or use the pool during their work hours, but babysitters and caregivers and family must remain in the designated spot reserved for the family when not swimming in the pool.

Health and Sanitation Rules:

HPSC is committed to clean and sanitary water and your compliance with the following rules is required for pool entry.

  1. Anyone having flu symptoms or gastrointestinal illness within the past three days should not use either pool.

However, the nature of certain bacteria is such that your compliance with City and State Health Codes is absolutely necessary. These rules will be strictly enforced in order to prevent the possibility of an outbreak of Cryptosporidium or other water-born bacteria.

Conduct and Procedures:

  1. The By-Laws are adopted by all members of HPSC and give specific responsibilities to our Board of Directors including the hiring and supervision of the staff.
