2025 Meet Schedule and Information
Swim Meets are held on Tuesday evenings, Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings. Most of our meets are dual meets, which means we compete against just one other team at their pool or our own. Exceptions include the Ashbury invitational and the championship meets. Swim meets usually last three - four hours and consist of up to 78 events with multiple heats for each event. Swimmers are expected to arrive one hour prior to the start of the meet for positive check-in and warmups.

Time Trials
We will kick off this season’s swim meets with Time Trials on Saturday, June 7th. Time trials is an intersquad, practice swim meet that we strongly encourage all swimmers to attend. It is a great way to get everyone in swim meet mode! For new swim families, this provides an orientation and run through of what a swim meet is like and the procedures to participate in one.
Swimmers will be timed in the individual events available for his or her respective age group. Results from the time trials help provide coaching staff with an idea of each swimmer’s ability level and establish a baseline to help gauge a swimmer’s personal growth over the course of the season. Time trials also provide the team with a base seed time for each swimmer, which will then be used to ensure proper heat placement (against swimmers with similar times) in future dual meets during the season.
Dual Meets and Invitationals
A dual meet is a meet between our team and one other team from the Naperville Swim Conference (NSC). Dual meets takes place either at our home pool or our opponent's pool. Dual meets are open to all our swimmers. An invitational consists of multiple teams swimming against each other. Invitationals are often only open to certain ages, genders, or events. For both, swimmers will declare their committment and our coaches will then pick the events that each swimmers swim in at the meet.
Attendance at dual meets and invitationals is strongly encouraged, though not required. It is a great way to monitor swimming progress, swim against other teams in a friendly, yet competitive environment, and visit the other NSC pools. If a swimmer wants to participate in a championship meet, they need to have participated in at least 3 regular season meets to do so.
Dual meets and invitationals are held throughout June and July, between the Time Trials and Championship meets.
Championship Meets
The two championship meets which culminate the Naperville Swim Conference are the Classic Meet and the City Meet.
- Swimmers attend either Classic or City, not both.
- Swimmers need qualifying times to swim at City.
- Swimmers who do not have qualifying times, or are 6 & Under, should swim at Classic.
- Swimmers who have some qualifying times, but not all, can choose which meet to attend.
Classic Championship at TBD: Saturday, July 19
City Championship at TBD: Friday, July 25 & Saturday, July 26
*All families with swimmers participating at championship meets will be expected to work a job at that meet
Meet Sign-Up and Committment
Summer is a popular time for family vacations, other sports, and family activities. Because of this, we ask parents to carefully check your families’ calendars, and indicate your availability to attend each meet. Each meet will have a committment deadline. Please indicate your swimmers availability for each meet before this date.
To Sign-Up:
- Log in to the website using the credentials that were created for your family account during registration. This is most likely the email address of the person who completed registration.
- After logging in, go to "Events & Competition" on the left-side menu. Or visit the Meets & Job Sign-Up page.
- Select "Team Events" tab.
- Click “Edit Commitment” for your chosen meet.
- Select your swimmer (if you have more than one, do them separately).
- Choose “Yes” or “No” to participate or decline.
- Click “Save Changes”.
Things to Remember
- Do not choose individual events, a coach will do this later.
- Do not leave notes in the notes field. No one sees them.
- Do pay attention to meet deadlines.
- When in doubt, say yes. It is easier to scratch from a meet than add in late.
We have lots of meets throughout the summer. Inevitably, swimmers will become ill or last minute conflicts arise. In these cases,
we request that any changes in a swimmer’s availability after the commitment deadline be communicated to the head coach as soon as possible.
When a swimmer declares for a meet but fails to show up or swimmers leave the meet early before one of their events… it negatively impacts the team. It leaves lanes open in heats when the opportunity could have been given to another swimmer and may even leave teammates without the necessary members of a relay team, causing them to forfeit the event.

How To Positive Check-In
Upon arrival at a meet, swimmers should look for the positive check-in list. At Breckenridge, check-in will be on clipboards hung on the fence near the entrance of the tennis courts. Clipboards will be organized by age group and gender. Your swimmer should find the appropriate clipboard, find their name on the list, and highlight their name and every event listed next to their name. Swimmers must check in, or they will be scratched from the meet. At away meets, the head or assistant coaches will facilitate positive check-in, so swimmers must check in with them.
