Private Lessons

Private and semi-private lessons with a Breakers’ coach can help your swimmer gain confidence and improve their technique. Please note that private lessons will be offered on a new schedule this year!

• Lessons will be offered each day that we have practice. All swim team members are allowed to sign up for any time slots available. (pool member or not).
• Lessons will run for 30 minutes.
• Private lessons will begin the week of June 9.
• Private lessons be offered at the following times:
  • ​Monday - Thursday: 10:00-10:30 am, 11-11:30 am, 11:30 am - 12 pm
  • Friday: 11-11:30 am and 11:30 - 12 pm only
• Daily pool cleaning will take place from 10:30 - 11:00 am this year, so unfortunately that time slot will not be available to the swim team for private lessons. 
• Parents can sign up for private lessons by putting your swimmer’s name down on an available space in the online signup.
• You can sign each of your swimmers up for 2 lessons per week. Want to do a few more lessons than that? Feel free to check online or with the coaches for day of openings, just make sure you let the coach know if you grab a spot online that morning. Day of signups close at 10:00 am.
• Of those two lessons per week, we kindly ask that no more than one of those be scheduled with the head coach each week. Our lead coaches, assistant coaches and coaches in training would love to work with your swimmer too! We strongly encourage trying several of the different coaches when scheduling your lessons because they each have different things to offer and so everyone has the opportunity to work with each coach.
• Please pay the coaches directly by cash (preferred) or check. Some of our coaches do accept electronic payment via Venmo and/or Zelle, but this varies by coach and should be confirmed by asking them in advance to your lesson.
• Parents are still responsible for payment for lessons missed or canceled within 24 hours of the lesson time. If you cannot make it last minute, we encourage you to try and find a fellow teammate to take the lesson for you.

• For private lessons that occur between 11 AM-12 PM, these are open to all swim team members this year. However, please note that the pool will be open for their regular open swim hours during that time, so we ask for parents to be mindful of that. If you are not a full pool member or HOA resident, you will need to leave the pool promptly after your private lesson is over. The $50 pool use fee that non-pool members pay during swim team does not allow for you to use the pool outside of practice or private lessons. Pool members and HOA residents may use the pool as normal after their lesson should they wish.
