Practice Guidelines

Regular practices are held Monday through Friday in the mornings before the pool opens to residents.  Swimmers are encouraged to attend as many practices as possible, as improvement in technique and times is strongly linked to regular attendance.

  • Swimmers should arrive 5-10 minutes prior to practice time and be ready in their lane to swim at their practice time. If worn, swim cap and goggles should be on prior to entering the water, to make the most out of your workout time.
  • Parents are allowed to stay but cannot be on the pool deck during practices. We ask for parents to stay under the canopy during practice.
  • Please refrain from interrupting coaches during practices.
  • Swimmers should exit the pool promptly when your practice is over, so not to delay the next group's practice.
  • Due to our tight schedule between the end of practice and the start of private lessons, we kindly ask that all questions for coaches be held until the 10:30–11:00 a.m. break. Swimmers must be out of the water promptly at 10:30 a.m. for pool maintenance, and we want to ensure everyone receives their full private lesson time.
  • Practices are held rain or shine. Practice in the pool will be canceled if there is a thunderstorm in the area, or if the air temperature is below 65* degrees F. Coaches may still have swimmers come to the pool wearing tennis shoes and warm clothing, so that dry land training activities can be done outside of the water.  An email will be sent if practice is canceled, so watch your emails on bad weather days.

Private Lessons

Private lessons with our coaching staff are available after practices, at designated times, for an additional fee. Please visit our Private Lesson page for more info.
