BBT Swim Program Director

The BBT Board of Directors is very excited to announce Emily Coleman as our new Swim Program Director for 2019!

Emily is a lifelong BBT member who spent her summers at the pool. She swam for the swim team, taught swim lessons, and served as a lifeguard. Some of you may know her by her maiden name – Emily Gannett.

Her mother Mary Anne also grew up at BBT, and Emily and her husband Jordan are currently raising third-generation Dolphins, Isabelle, Madeline, Joey, and Augustine.

Emily’s father Kip grew up swimming at BSR, but he has been fully indoctrinated in the ways of BBT after raising seven children at the pool and grilling many hot dogs and burgers at BBT events.

Most of Emily’s six brothers swam for the BBT swim team, and one meet years ago featured a BBT relay team that was made up of four of the Gannett boys – Jack, Paul, Matt, and Mark.

Emily is anxious to begin putting her years of experience as a coach and swim instructor to good use at her home pool.  She coached the Annapolis High School Panthers swim team, and one year Emily guided the team to a second-place finish – losing to the first place team by only one point.  Along with teaching swim lessons at BBT as a teenager, Emily also served as an instructor for the Bowie Aquatic Club and Sport Fit.

Please join us in welcoming Emily Coleman as our new Swim Program Director!
