New Family Orientation - May 7th | 4pm | Rudgear Estates Pool (grassy area)
Join us as we will go over the season, swim meets, jobs, and so much more! There will also be ample time for questions and answers. We encourage all new families to attend this orientation (families who were new last year are absolutely welcome to come if they want a refresher). New families will also have the opportunity to have first pick of a couple meet jobs. (And be sure to stick around after for the Welcome Back party!)
Welcome Back Party - May 7th | 5pm | Rudgear Estates Pool (grassy area)
Directly following the New Family Orientation, we invite all Rats families to come down to the pool to kick off the season at the Welcome Back party! Bring your own dinner and drinks (and a dessert to share if you want). The pool is open to anyone who wants to swim, so don’t forget suits and towels.
Swim Meet Sign-In/Sign-Out
The meet calendar is up and ready for you to sign your swimmer(s) in to or out of all meets. (New families, we will go over this on Saturday, so no worries if you're reading this and are thinking, "Huh?" )
For each meet, click if your swimmer(s) will “attend” or “decline” the meet. We find that it’s best practice to sign your swimmer(s) into all the meets at the start of the season (you can always change your declaration up to a week prior to the meet).
All swimmers must declare (click attend or decline) for EVERY meet. It is critical that you make declarations for your swimmer(s) no later than one week prior to each meet. If a swimmer is not signed into a meet a week prior to the meet, they will not be placed into events for that meet.
Veteran Families Still Needed!
If you’re a veteran Rats family, you can remember how confusing the first year of swim team can feel. We want to make sure that each of our new families has someone that they can reach out to with questions. Veteran families, you definitely don’t need to know it all to sign up to be a buddy - all you need is a welcoming, helpful attitude and a #BleedGreen heart! Veteran families (1+ years on the team), please click here to sign up to be a buddy.
Lessons
Coach Nick will be offering a few lessons in the early afternoons this May. Click here to check availability and sign up. Once we are into summer there will be lots of lessons offered by our coaches.
Jobs
Job sign-ups will open on May 8th at 8:00am. We will send out lots more information about jobs this week, so be on the lookout for jobs-related emails.
Sponsorship
Does your business want to be an official RATS supporter? What about your friends and family? Or maybe your dentist? The more sponsors we have the more fun we can fund! If you know anyone who may want to be a sponsor, please send them our sponsorship information/form and encourage them to support the RATS!
Pool/HOA Reminders
Now that it’s May, the pool is open to all homeowners and pool members. In May, you’ll see that our practices will happen in just four lanes, as two of the lanes are reserved for HOA/pool member lap swimming. Once we move to the summer practice schedule, we will be back to utilizing all six lanes.
Also, the deep end/diving board area is now open to HOA/pool members. If your family is not a pool member, please be sure that your swimmers are only in the pool during their designated practice time.
Lastly, we want to make sure that we keep the pool grounds nice and neat. If you move deck furniture, please move it back where you found it before you leave. Also, please make sure all trash gets thrown away and that all items you bring to the pool go home with you. Thank you for helping to keep Rudgear Estates beautiful!
Make it a great week everyone and GOOOOOOOOOOOO RATS!!
PS - Can't wait to see everyone on Saturday for the Welcome Back Party. It's going to be RAT-ical!!
