It's Almost RAT SZN

Get excited: practice starts Monday (4/10)! We are so pumped up to see all our Rats in the pool and to kick off another amazing. There is a lot of information below and if you're new to the team or need a refresher, please read everything. If you know the drill and need a summary here it is: Practice starts on Monday, it's at Rudgear Meadows, and the times are below. No practice on 4/12.

Practice
Practice runs Monday-Friday. We will follow the spring practice schedule April 10-May 25. (On May 30, we will begin following the summer practice schedule.)

While the Rudgear Estates pool is being refinished, we will practice at Rudgear Meadows. The Rudgear Meadows HOA has been an amazing partner - they are allowing us to use the pool throughout April. It’s important that we are good guests, so please make sure not to leave towels, food, etc. behind. We want to leave the pool as nice as we found it. Also, please take care to drive safely and park carefully. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself and your swimmer(s) with the pool’s rules here.

Rudgear Meadows Pool - 2400 Stewart Avenue | Walnut Creek

Please note: There is no practice Wednesday, April 12^th

Gear Needed
-practice suit
-goggles
-fins
-towel
-swim cap (for all swimmers with long hair)
-hand paddles (13 and ups only)

Practice Etiquette
During practice, parents/caregivers should put some distance between themselves and the pool. Enjoy the break and hang out with the other swim parents/caregivers; swimmers tend to do better if their adult isn’t watching. Also, please do not approach the coaches in the middle of practice, as the coaches need to focus on all our swimmers. Similarly, parents/caregivers should not help to coach their swimmers during practice.

6U/New Family Meeting
We are hosting a six and unders/new families meeting on April 11^th during 6U practice (4:15pm) on the Rudgear Meadows pool deck. We know that starting swim team can feel incredibly overwhelming and we want to be sure to kick this season off right. If you know the ropes or just can’t make it, no worries at all. Please bring all your questions – we promise there are no bad ones. If you feel more comfortable submitting questions ahead of time, please do so here. We can’t wait to meet you! (We will also email out all the questions and answers for families who can't make it.)

Team Suit
As a reminder, if you want a team suit guaranteed to arrive by our first meet – make sure to order by Monday (4/10). We highly recommend you pop into Elsmore to get fitted before you order. Please do not wear your new team suit to practice as you want to keep it nice and fresh for meets.
