New Family Orientation - May 13th | 4pm | Rudgear Estates Pool (grassy area)
Join us as we will go over the season, swim meets, jobs, and so much more! There will also be ample time for questions and answers. We encourage all new families to attend this orientation (and any veteran families who want a refresher). New families will also have the opportunity to have first pick of a couple meet jobs. (And be sure to stick around after for the Welcome Back party!)
Welcome Back Party - May 13th | 5pm | Rudgear Estates Pool (grassy area)
Directly following the New Family Orientation, we invite all Rats families to come down to the pool to kick off the season at the Welcome Back party! Bring your own dinner and drinks (and a dessert to share if you want). This is a fun event for swimmers and families – it’s going to be a RAT-ical time!
Jobs
Job Sign Ups open May 15th at 7pm. The 2023 requirement is five meet jobs and one team job. (Plus one meet job for each big meet your family participates in. You sign up for those later in the season.) We will send a comprehensive email prior to jobs opening. New families, we will go over all things jobs at the orientation. (And you’ll get first pick of a couple meet jobs.)

Time to Declare for Meets!
It’s time to declare for swim meets. The meet calendar is up and ready for you to sign your swimmer(s) in to or out of all meets. (New families, we will go over this on Saturday, so no worries if you're reading this and are thinking, "Huh?")
For each meet, click if your swimmer(s) will “attend” or “decline” the meet. We find that it’s best practice to sign your swimmer(s) into all the meets at the start of the season (you can always change your declaration up to a week prior to the meet).
All swimmers must declare (click attend or decline) for EVERY meet. It is critical that you make declarations for your swimmer(s) no later than one week prior to each meet. If a swimmer is not signed into a meet a week prior to the meet, they will not be placed into events for that meet.
Adult Social & Poker Tournament - June 10th
This summer’s Adult Social is going down on June 10th. Back by popular demand, we are hosting another poker tournament – grand prize is a job pass for the 2024 season!
For those who don’t want to play poker, we will have music, fun, and games set up in an adjoining room. Dinner will be served for all. Come hang out with Rudgear parents and maybe even win some prizes! All proceeds raised go towards supporting our Rudgear Rats swim team.
To let us know that you’re coming, please submit $75 per poker playing attendee and $60 for non-poker players. Please attach your full name to your payment so we can put you on the V.I.R. (Very Important Rat) entry list for the event.
-Venmo: @Rudgear-Rats – write attendee’s name(s) in payment note.
-Cash/Check: Give payment to Nick Loera or place in the Loera family folder – attach attendee’s name(s) to payment. (Family folders will be right next to the front gate when we get back to Rudgear Estates.)

You can still order a team suit. Please head into Elsmore to get fitted and then order online. There is no deadline, but the faster you order the faster your suit will arrive. Click here to order.
Sub List
Do you have an older kid (16+) who wants to be on our sub list? Or do you want to make a little extra cash since you’re at the meet anyway? Email [email protected] and let Ray know your kid/you wants to be on the list. Please be sure to include first and last and cell phone number.
