Coach’s Message
Rats,
Welcome home! It’s a great feeling to be back at Rudgear Estates. Again, we appreciate the accommodations by Rudgear Meadows! That being noted, we will have more space and ultimately a better practice routine with our bigger pool and normal diving blocks. Thanks to everyone for an amazing effort at time trials. Coaches are loving the vibes! Bless up. Bleed Green. Go Rats!

We’re Back!
We are so so SO pumped up to be back at Rudgear Estates! From now on, all practices, home meets, events, etc. will be at Rudgear Estates. Please review the Rudgear Estates HOA’s rules with your swimmer.
Pool/HOA Reminders
The pool is open to all homeowners and pool members. For this coming week, you’ll see that our practices will happen in just four lanes, as two of the lanes are reserved for HOA/pool member lap swimming. Once we move to the summer practice schedule, we will have access to all six lanes.
Also, the deep end/diving board area is now open to HOA/pool members. If your family is not a pool member, please be sure that your swimmers are only in the pool during their designated practice time.
Once we move to summer practice schedule, no one is allowed in the pool except the swimmers who are practicing during their designated practice time.
Lastly, we want to make sure that we keep the pool grounds nice and neat. If you move deck furniture, please move it back where you found it before you leave. Also, please make sure all trash gets thrown away and that all items you bring to the pool go home with you. Thank you for helping to keep Rudgear Estates beautiful!
Family Folders
Family folders are now available. These folders will be where ribbons and important team info is passed on to our swimmers and family. They are organized by last name and located directly inside the pool gate. They will be accessible to all swimmers during practice and to all families at home meets.
Time Trials Results
We loved seeing the RATS show their stuff at Time Trials. Click here to check out the results. Next stop: time pops!!
Buddy Program
One of our favorite things to do each season is match up younger and older swimmers as buddies. Buddies cheer for each other, write notes of encouragement, and bring each other little gifts or treats at meets. If you swimmers wants to be part of the buddy program (and we highly recommend that everyone participates), please have your swimmer fill out this form and hand it in to the Completed Buddy Form folder by May 31st. If your swimmer has a question about the buddy program, please tell them to chat with Coach Ari or Coach Sophia.
Coach Lunch
We have a great tradition of keeping our coaches at Rudgear fed! Please sign up here to bring our coaches lunch one day this summer. (We have EIGHT coaches this season, so we encourage you to team up with another family.)
Reminder to Declare for Meets
All swimmers must declare (click attend or decline) for EVERY meet. It is critical that you make declarations for your swimmer(s) no later than one week prior to each meet. If a swimmer is not signed into a meet a week prior to the meet, they will not be placed into events for that meet.
Picture Day
Monday, June 5 – arrive between 8am and 10:30am. Please come at whatever time is best for you – but not everyone can come on the later side, so if you can come earlier please do so. (Even if you don’t want to order pictures, please bring your swimmer by to take their photo so it can be compiled into the team photo.) More details about how to order photos will be sent soon.
Adult Social & Poker Tournament
This summer’s Adult Social is going down on June 10th. Back by popular demand, we are hosting another poker tournament – grand prize is a job pass for the 2024 season!
For those who don’t want to play poker, we will have music, fun, and games set up in an adjoining room. Dinner will be served for all. Come hang out with Rudgear parents and maybe even win some prizes! All proceeds raised go towards supporting our Rudgear Rats swim team.
To let us know that you’re coming, please submit $75 per poker playing attendee and $60 for non-poker players. Please attach your full name to your payment so we can put you on the V.I.R. (Very Important Rat) entry list for the event.
-Venmo: @Rudgear-Rats – write attendee’s name(s) in payment note.
-Cash/Check: Give payment to Nick Loera or place in the Loera family folder – attach attendee’s name(s) to payment. (Family folders will be right next to the front gate when we get back to Rudgear Estates.)

Kinda Odd Request
