Heather Farms Aquatic Center - Make Your Voice Heard!

Rudgear President

Calling all Current and Retired RATS Families!

Walnut Creek’s proposed design for the new Heather Farm’s aquatic center falls short of meeting the needs of our rec swim community and the needs of other local aquatic programs. Issues that directly impact us are lack of lanes available for competition and lack of space for tents and team areas surrounding the pool. Moreover, there are many more issues that impact other local aquatic programs.

There is good news though – the Walnut Creek Aquatic Foundation has come up with a better proposal and we have a couple of upcoming opportunities to show our support. We need YOUR support in advocating for a facility that truly serves us all. Please read the information below and take action!

Advocacy Opportunities

Call to Action
Your perspective as a dedicated swim parent and community member can make a significant impact on the decisions being made. Please take a moment to submit a public comment or, better yet, consider speaking (or helping your swimmer to speak!) at the upcoming meetings. Some suggested topics:

-We are in support of the Walnut Creek Aquatic’s Foundation proposal which asks for a 52-meter competition pool and a ten-lane multi-use recreational pool

-How All-City Meet and the Walnut Creek Swim Conference Championship meets have positively impacted your swimmer(s) and family

-Any other connections you have to the Heather Farms aquatic center (did you swim growing up, do you swim masters, etc.)

-Share how the current set up at Heather Farms helps to promote a sense of community, pride, and spirit at our big meets – we want large, Walnut Creek-based swim events to stay in Walnut Creek!

Please show support for an aquatic center that will not only support our rec swim needs, but will also provide enhanced training and competition opportunities for other local aquatic groups. Thank you for being the driving force behind positive change!
