Meets
-
A swimmer’s competitive age for the entire season is determined by his/her age on June 15th.
-
Swimmers should relax away from the Club the Friday before “A” Meets
-
Swimmers should wear Riverton Wave T Shirt to show team unity.
-
Swimmers must remain in the designated team area unless given permission to leave by the coach; this is imperative to assure that swimmers NEVER miss their events!
-
Swimmers and Parents should know before the Meet what Events they are entered in. You can review the meet sheet drafted by the Coaches or listen to the line up as it is announced at the Team Lunch or Dinner the day before the Meet.
-
Parents of younger children should assist their children with making sure they are at the blocks for their Event.
- Swimmers should be cheering on their fellow teammates.
Parent Volunteers
Parent volunteers are necessary to ensure that your children have the best possible summer experience in a well-run environment. Please show your children your support by getting involved and being a part of the swim team!
At each swim meet, Riverton Parents are required to time. We will be assigned three lanes of swimmers and two timers are needed for each lane. Stop watches are provided. Several other areas parents can help during meets include:
-
Head Timer
-
Runner
-
Clerk of Course
-
Scorer's Table
-
Computer Entry
-
Ribbons
-
Stroke & Turn Official (training needed)
-
Starter/Referee (training needed)
- Snack Shack Helper
A swim meet requires many volunteers. It is expected that one parent from each family volunteer to work at least 3 swim meets. If there are not enough volunteers for each position, parents will be assigned jobs for the meet.
