Tri-County Swimming Association

Riverton is one of 34 swim teams from the Tri-County swim league.  The league has 6 divisions:  A through F.  Each division has between five and six teams.  At the end of the summer season, the team with the best record moves up to the next division.  The team with the worst record moves down a division.  Riverton is in the “F” division. 

 

Meet Events

Each meet has 64 events swum in the following order:

  1. Individual Medley (Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Freestyle)

  2. Medley Relay (Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly, Freestyle)

  3. Freestyle

  4. Backstroke

  5. Breaststroke

  6. Butterfly

  7. Freestyle Relay

 

Age Groups

Events are broken down by age groups and gender, run from youngest to oldest, girls go first:

8 & under

9— 10 year olds

11—12 year olds

13—14 year olds

15—18 year olds

 

Scoring

Scoring at “A” Meets is based on the following point system:

1st place—5 points          2nd place—3 points         3rd place— 1 point

Relay teams— 7 points for 1st place
