The Palm Springs Swim Center is closed today, Friday, February 4 due to pool heating issues. The pool may be back by Saturday practices, we will keep everyone informed. At this time, we are trying to arrange pool space at another location primarily for the Senior group. All other groups will be cancelled today - Bronze, Gold and Silver. The "younger" qualifiers for the Junior Olympic meet will compete in Long Beach from Friday through Sunday this weekend. A crew of 5 girls go to represent Piranhas and look to swim fast for the team. Alissa Koochaki leads the way with 6 events, followed by Kelli Andrade (5) and her relay team of Emma Johansen, Desiree Lewis (50 breast), Jacquie Cordero. The coaches, parents and teammates are all excited to see some great results from these girls at the Belmont Plaza pool. Go Piranhas!
Piranhas! We want to remind everyone that there will be a team event on the pool deck tonight that will celebrate the swimmers representing Piranha in the upcoming championship meets. We have athletes attending the JO and JO Max championship next month and we are going to "send them off" with a pizza party for everyone. The event will go from 5:30-6:30, remember Gold and Senior groups will be getting in early tonight in order to get out in time for the event. We will see you all there tonight!...
Temecula – This past weekend’s meet in Temecula was a success for many swimmers. Many differing goals but overall we had good results as we head into our championship meets in February. The morning sessions proved to be a success with many best times and allowing Piranha to qualify a 10 and under medley relay of Kelli Andrade, Desiree Lewis, Emma Johansen and Jacquie Cordero. The Piranha swim team heads to Temecula for the "Last Ditch" JO meet this weekend. Several swimmers will be competing to attain time standards for the Junior Olympic (JO) meet in February while many will be using this meet to fine tune their racing skills before the JO championship meet. It is a two-day meet, Saturday and Sunday, and it will begin each day with the younger swimmers in the morning while the older swimmers compete in the afternoon. Best of luck to all of our Piranhas!
