Long Beach - the Piranhas finished the California/Nevada Sectional meet with 4 best swims! Faith Travis highlighted the day with her swim in the 1650! Long Beach- the Piranhas had a great evening session that helped push the team into the top 20 for small teams and 45th overall. Long Beach - Adam Shaw swam a personal best 400 IM of 4:05.68 dropping 8 seconds off his previous best time. That swim allows him to compete in the finals tonight and giving him another opportunity to improve his time. Long Beach - 5 Piranhas swam 9 events in the preliminary session on day 2 of the US Swimming Sectional championships. The team had another banner day with 10 lifetime best times! By having aggressive strategies, 3 of the best swims were 100 lead-offs for their 200's. There are 9 Piranha swimmers competing at the USA swimming Sectional meet in Long Beach at the Belmont pool. The meet starts tonight with the 1000 freestyle and concludes on Tuesday night with our 400 Medley Relay. The 5 day meet will give our swimmers a great opportunity and experience competing at a high levelmeet. Long Beach - two Piranha swimmers competed in the 1000 freestyle on Friday night and both achieved best times by almost 20 seconds. Kat Wickham and Faith Travis swam 10:26.54 and 10:24.04, respectfully. Both these times crush the Sectional automatic standard. The swims have sparked the Piranhas to a fast start at the meet and the team will try and carry that momentum into preliminaries on Saturday.

The Piranhas finished the weekend at Winter Age Group Championships in 26th place with 166.5 points out of over 40 teams. A great finish for our group of 12 athletes! Only athletes finishing in the top 16 places of their events can contribute to team scores.
