Today is the first day of a 3 day meet for qualifiers to the Winter Age group championships. 11 swimmers are in Las Vegas competing and looking to attain great swims and times. Finals of day 1 are tonight at 5:00. Participants are Shelby and Kelli Andrade, Christina Bruni, Desiree Lewis, Kelley Ostrander, Lexi and Lindsay Lettalier, Alexa Wasserman, Alissa Koochaki, Sara Kennedy, Nick Kopan and Matt Nevins. PALM SPRINGS, CA-- Nine hundred sixty-five swimmers and their families will travel to the Palm Springs Swim Center from throughout Southern California, Nevada, Arizona and Utah to swim in the Piranha’s annual short course meet called the Agua Caliente Open Invitational. The city pool is located at 401 S. The annual Agua Caliente swim meet begins its first session tomorrow night! (Friday) This is an exciting opportunity for the Piranha Swim Team to host such a great event. Nine Piranha Swimmers are competing with 400 senior swimmers, including Olympians and national team members at The Kevin Perry Memorial Senior Meet, Nov. 12-14. at the Janet Evans Swim Complex in Fullerton. Olympians include world record holders Rebecca Soni and Kate Ziegler. The meet has prelims in the morning session with finals in the evening for the top 24 qualifiers. The new 2011 USA Swimming Time Standards have been determined. They can be found here on the SCS website. These time standards apply for the 2011 Spring JO's (in this coming February) so please do not use the 2010 SWIM GUIDE that you may have now for the 2011 Spring JO standards. The Winter Age Group Standards in the Swim Guide are current.
