How to Volunteer/Sign Up for Jobs
(This is only applicable for Coast home meets - Sand Dollar, Rick Byers, and Weekend at Bernie's. Away meets are the responsibility of the hosting team.)
- In the side menu click Events & Competition > Team Events.
- Find an upcoming meet in the list and click Job Signup.
- Check the boxes by jobs you will work. Be careful not to pick conflicting times!
- Click Signup.
- In the popup box, optionally enter any contact information, such as your phone number, or if someone else will be doing the job, their name and number, and click Sign Up.
- If you accidentally signup for the wrong job, or later discover you can't work a job, select the job and click Remove Signup. You can do this up until 11:59pm of the Job Signup Deadline at the top of the page.
- You may click Print My Job Signup Summary near the top for a handy reference of all the jobs you signed up for.
Our meets are completely run by volunteers—every timer, official, announcer, and hospitality helper you see on deck is another parent or family member like you. We host only three meets a year, and those are our biggest fundraisers. Hosting successful meets helps keep dues low, gives our swimmers the chance to compete locally, and builds the strong community that makes Coast special. Getting involved is easy, and most positions don’t require experience. You can help with setup or cleanup, hospitality, passing out drinks to deck volunteers, organizing ribbons and awards, or timing. Hospitality contributions are a big part of what makes our meets special—they’re our way of saying thank you to those who travel to swim with us and to everyone who helps make the meet happen. Volunteering and hospitality are part of our Coast membership because without timers and officials, we can’t host meets, and without hospitality donations, those costs would have to come out of our dues.
