Financial Assistance Guidelines

 

Mission: Coast Aquatics, Inc. (CA), as part of its mission, is committed to offering area swimmers the opportunity to succeed in the sport of swimming and recognizes that financial hardships can limit those opportunities. Our financial aid policy is designed to support families who demonstrate financial need while maintaining the integrity of the team’s financial resources.

Eligibility: Financial assistance is awarded based on demonstrated financial need and the availability of Coast Aquatics’ funds. Families are encouraged to apply if household income, unexpected hardships, or special circumstances limit their ability to pay team fees. Assistance is generally considered for families whose income falls below 200% of the federal poverty guideline or who can demonstrate other significant financial challenges.

Application Requirements: In order to apply for financial assistance, you must supply Coast Aquatics with all of the following:

  • Completed Financial Assistance Form
  • Copy of the most recent tax return (Form 1040, pages 1 & 2 only; please black out SSN or account numbers)
  • Two (2) consecutive pay stubs for each income-earning member of the household

Submissing Instructions: Support documents will not be returned, so please submit photocopies only. All documents will be securely destroyed at the end of the assistance period. Please email all materials to: [email protected].  

 

Confidentiality & Review:  All applications and related information will be held in strict confidence and reviewed only by the Board of Directors.

Notification: Applicants will be notified of the Board’s decision in writing (via email or letter) within two (2) weeks following review. All communications regarding financial assistance decisions will remain confidential.

Appeal: Families who wish to appeal a decision may submit a written request to the Board within ten (10) days of notification, providing additional documentation or explanation for reconsideration.

Award Period & Renewal:  Financial assistance awards are valid for one year (as determined by the Board). To renew assistance, families must reapply by submitting an updated Financial Assistance Form and supporting documents prior to the next review period.

 

Policy Limitations & Participation:  This policy is limited by the financial resources of Coast Aquatics.

Swimmers receiving financial assistance are expected to show consistent participation in practices. Assistance may be revoked if attendance is irregular. Competitions, gear, and meet entry fees are not covered under this program.

All members who receive financial aid are required to volunteer at all home meets (timing, hospitality, setup, cleanup, etc.). Failure to fulfill volunteer obligations may result in the revocation of financial assistance.
