CHAMPIONSHIP MEET TIME STANDARDS UPDATED

At the October 18th Board meeting, the SNS Board adopted new Championship Meet time standards.  The time standards will go into effect starting with the 2026 Bill Rose Classic/SNS Long Course Championship Meet.  The current time standards that will be in effect for both SNS Short Course Championship Meets and the new time standards are posted on the SNS website Time Standards.

EQUIPMENT RENTAL UPDATE

Pursuant to the Board’s approval on October 18, 2025 Board meeting, SNS has sold its swim meet timing equipment to TJ Kay at Itsabouttime4swim.  If you have equipment rental needs, please contact him directly.  He has agreed to maintain the 24/25 season rates for the next 3 seasons for SNS Clubs.

Club Registration & Membership Updates

Club Registration Deadline
Clubs must complete registration between now and December 31, 2025. Failure to register by the deadline will result in removal of all club staff access to the Club Portal.

Registration Fees

  • USA Swimming renewal fee: $500
  • LSC registration fee: $55
  • Total club renewal cost: $550

Athlete & Non-Athlete Membership Fees
No changes this season.

  • Premium Athlete ($95)
  • Individual Season Athlete ($59)
  • Flex Athlete ($30)
  • Non-Athlete (Coach, Junior Coach, Official, Other) ($80)
  • Administrator (Club Board Members and Non-Coach Employees) ($40)

Athletes Turning 18

  • Athletes must create their own USA Swimming account using their personal email address.
  • Accounts must be created before completing Athlete Protection Training.

 

Membership Compliance

Clubs must ensure that all athletes and coaches are in good standing.

  • Athletes or coaches who are not registered and compliant may not be on deck or in the water.
  • Failure to enforce this rule will invalidate the club’s USA Swimming insurance.

Key Points:

  • Only athletes who have never registered with USA Swimming are eligible for a 30-day tryout period.
  • All other athletes must be registered to practice or compete.
  • Every athlete must have a current Athlete Membership before being entered into a meet.

 

BOARD MEMBER ANNOUNCEMENTS

From General Chair:

  • The new addition of USA Swimming’s Leap Program is currently being tested by 3 LSCs. We will be responsible for completing the new program by September 30, 2026.
  • We are looking for people that would be willing to help with the Awards Banquet and Championship Awards. Items would include discussion of awards, planning and logistics. Contact Brandon Mills to help.  We will need one individual from each of the Championship meet host teams to be involved.
  •  We need Board members to join the Olympic Trials/Olympic Funding committee to update and develop policies in advance of 2028. Contact me to join

From Admin Vice Chair:

  • The Director of Operations job was posted and applications were due October 26, 2025.  The Personnel Committee will review all applications and determine next steps in the hiring process.

From Finance:

  • The audit is completed and submitted to USA Swimming.  No revisions required this year.

From Technical Planning:

  • Thanksgiving Thousand has moved from November 8th to November 15th and has been updated on the SNS Website

From Coaches:

  • 2026 ASCA Pacific Swim Coaches Clinic registration is now open!
    • Dates: January 9th - 11th
    • View clinic Information and register here. 
    • Sierra Nevada Swimming will reimburse at least one coach registration from each team in the LSC at the early bird registration amount ($190). Review and submit for reimbursement here by January 14th, 2026.
