Director of Operations – Sierra Nevada Swimming

Sierra Nevada Swimming (SNS), a Local Swimming Committee (LSC) of USA Swimming, is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to serve as our Director of Operations. This position plays a central leadership role in supporting athletes, coaches, officials, clubs, and non-athlete members across the region by delivering high-quality programs, well-run events, and effective communications.

Position Overview

The Director of Operations serves as a senior leader within SNS, responsible for organizing, coordinating, and executing programs that advance and strengthen the SNS community.

This position oversees all aspects of:

  • Operational Management – driving Board-approved projects, ensuring alignment across committees, and maintaining compliance with policies and financial standards.
  • Communication & Marketing – serving as the central point of contact for SNS members, managing internal/external communications, and leading marketing initiatives that raise the visibility of the LSC and its athletes.
  • Event Management – governance events, championship meet assistance, development programs, and special events with professionalism and efficiency.

The Director of Operations works closely with the Board of Directors, committees, and partner organizations to deliver high-quality services that benefit the entire swimming community

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee SNS projects and initiatives, ensuring objectives, timelines, and outcomes are achieved.
  • Lead planning and execution of governance meetings (House of Delegates, Board of Directors), Western Zone meet, clinics, and community events.
  • Manage internal and external communications, ensuring clear and timely updates across email, newsletters, website, and social media.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote SNS programs, events, and achievements.
  • Maintain accurate records, policies, and compliance with USA Swimming standards (including LEAP).
  • Provide administrative support to the Board of Directors, committees, and non-athlete members.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated background in operations management, including project management, event planning, marketing, and organizational leadership.
  • Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with little or no supervision while balancing multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with office software, digital communications, and social media tools.
  • Familiarity with USA Swimming structure and governance is desirable.
  • Must maintain active USA Swimming membership.

Part-Time Assistant Coach: California Capital Aquatics

California Capital Aquatics located in Roseville, CA is seeking an enthusiastic and versatile Part-Time Assistant Coach to join our staff. This coach will work primarily with entry level swimmers in our program. This coach reports directly to the head coach and collaborates with our other assistant coaches.  We are looking for someone adaptable, team-oriented, and passionate about building technically sound, confident, motivated and high character swimmers at all levels.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct 4-5 practices per week (approximately 10-20 hours/week) and attend 1–2 swim meets per month.
  • Plan, prepare, and conduct practices aligned with CCA’s curriculum.
  • Provide coaching support across multiple training groups when needed.
  • Assist with swimmer group placement and evaluate readiness for advancement.
  • Create smaller training groups within practice to ensure appropriate challenges for all athletes.
  • Collaborate with the CCA coaching staff to ensure program consistency and alignment.
  • Communicate effectively with swimmers, parents, and staff.

Qualifications

  • College degree (preferred).
  • 1+ year of competitive swim coaching experience (preferred).
  • ASCA Level 2 Certification (preferred).
  • 5+ years of competitive swimming experience (preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Energetic, patient, and able to give clear, simple instructions.
  • Proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and basic tech tools.
  • Must meet all USA Swimming coaching certification requirements (can be completed upon hire).

Compensation is commensurate with experience.
