Some Neptunes took to the frigid waters of SF Bay on the weekend of September 30. Tyler Main and Katelyn Hackett swam the Tiburon mile (Angel Island to Tiburon) on Sunday, October 1, and Jordan Davis swam the Alcatraz Invitational Swim on September 30. Eyewitnesses report that Tyler sported a very small Speedo swimsuit. Proceeds of the race went to aid Special Olympics. Tyler got 23rd overall in the age group set and 6th in his age group (13-18). August 31 officially ends the 2005-06 swim season. Neptunes Head Coach Dan Greaves received the 2005 George Haines Award, which recognizes the outstanding Pacific Swimming Senior Coach. The award was presented at the Pacific Swimming Awards Banquet on January 7 in Napa, California. Dan was selected on the basis of a poll of Pacific Swimming coaches. Great job and congratulations Dan! Also receiving awards at this banquet were Neptune swimmers Maya DiRado and Amanda Sims, who were selected as Outstanding Swimmers in their age group in 2005. Dear Neptune Families We will have a Dine and Donate event at Chevy's on May 6th. 25% of your food and non-alchoholic beverage purchase will go towards Neptune Swimming.
