Monterey County Aquatics Team swimmer, Alex Morris of Salinas was awarded USA Swimming "All American"Academic /Athlete. Palma High School coach, and his high school/club coach Dia C Rianda was recognized for Alex's success in swimming and school. Alex Morris was a 4.+ student at Palma High School and placed at the USA Swimming/Speedo Spring and Summer Sectionals in 2006-2007, earning him this honor. Message Body Attached are the basic quidlines for those swimmers thinking about swimming in college. High school and Jr High school swimmers should review and understand that they must meet basic requirements, in order to participate in collegiate sports. This includes, certification from the clearing house before the beginning of the senior year. If you have any questions, please give me a call. It is never to early to start educating yourself about the college application and recruit process. Scouts do not come looking for you or offering scholarships freely....

Monterey County Aquatic Team Members attended the Pacific Swimming Long Course Junior Olympics July 19-22,2007 at Independence High School in San Jose, California. Grant Hashimoto 16 of Salinas earned a Silver medal in the 50 free with a time of (25.95). He also placed in the 100 free (56.81) and the 200 free (2:05.40). 22 MCAT members from the Junior and Senior groups attended the Firecracker Meet in San Luis Obispo on July 7th and 8th. The team had a great time and traveled together by van to the meet. Toby Macabugoa placed 2nd in his division in the high point race. Henry Vega , Joe Ordaz -Haung, Eddie Navarro and Timmy Jimenez had 100% best times. CONGRATULATIONS Masters Team SVAM-Salinas Valley Aquatics Masters competed at the Pacific Championship Long Course Meters meet in Santa Cruz July 7 - 8, 2007.
