Lifeguard Class

The American Red Cross course provides participants with the skills and practice needed to become an effective and professional lifeguard. Candidates can be certified in CPR for Professional Rescuer/AED and Lifeguarding and First Aid with the successful completion of the written and physical skills test. This will be a blended learning course with an online portion to be completed before the first in person session. Prerequisites: Students must be 15 years of age by the last day of the class, 300 yard swim, retrieve a 10 pound brick from the depth of 9 feet, and swim 25 yards with both hands on the brick. Participants are required to attend all class dates.

Lifeguard Instructor Class

This class trains instructor candidates to teach Lifeguard Training (including First Aid), CPR for Professional Rescuer, Lifeguard Management, AED essentials, Prerequisites: Be a certified Lifeguard at least 17 years of age by the last date of the course, pass each section of the pre-course written exam with a score of 80% and demonstrate competency in their Lifeguarding skills.

Water Safety Instructor Class

The purpose of this course is to train instructor candidates to teach American Red Cross Swimming and Water Safety courses. This includes: Learn to Swim programs 1-6, infant and preschool aquatics, community water safety, and basic water safety. Participants must be 16 years of age by the end of the course, and successful completion of the pre-course swim test. Participants are required to attend all dates listed.
