Another great meet at the Pumpkin Patch Splash for AG2! I am really impressed with the maturity our swimmers showed from warm up, to talking to coaches before and after races to even cooling down and warming up throughout the meet. Our group and our team is being noticed by other coaches and teams and I love that! We had 27 swimmers in the meet including 8 who did the 500 for the first time and 2 who did the 1000 for the first time! Congratulations again to our G.O.A.T...
AG1 Swimmer of the Month: Edward Cai This month’s Swimmer of the Month goes to Edward Cai, whose hard work, attitude, and leadership have truly stood out. Edward has been putting in the effort to challenge himself to go beyond his comfort zone, signing up for ‘tougher’ events and focusing on improving his weaker strokes during practice. His determination and willingness to take on challenges are a great example for his teammates. Edward is also a great teammate, consistently making an effort to include and encourage new swimmers in the...
SwimTember weekend wasn’t about chasing time drops, it was about executing our systems: showing up on time, warming up with intention, racing with strategy, fueling properly, cheering loudly for teammates, bouncing back after tough swims, and even staying warm and dry in the rain. Those systems paid off, and the time drops we did see were the result of doing the little things right. We’ve built a strong foundation to launch into the season, and we know exactly where to focus in practice to keep moving forward. *First Swim! Max...
Senior 1 In the training we have been hitting, some of these times may have come as a surprise. That is the same focus you have been producing and maintaining in workouts. Here are a few events that stood out. I'd like to take a moment to highlight Katie Skarbek’s 500FR. This might be the breakout swim of the year. Without a doubt, the most profound swim I have witnessed as a coach that helped the athlete. She has been working toward this breakthrough for over a year. The evidence...
Swimtember wrap up for Age Group 2 What a fantastic way to start the season! I am so proud of this group. In absolutely horrible conditions this group stayed focused on their swims and what they needed to do in the water. They prepared well during warm up and stayed ready and energized throughout the meet. The swimmers talked to coaches before and after races and I saw them encouraging and cheering for each other! I told them before the meet I didn’t care about times but wanted them to...
Blue Parents and Swimmers: Great racing this weekend. We did a fantastic job of hitting the small details as the races progressed and fatigue grew. All but a few had at least one best time, with the average best times around 3-4. I was not concerned with times at this meet, but rather how shifting the focus of the swim can still produce great times. Standout events: Audrey Botsios - 500FR 21-second drop & 100Br 9-second drop Enung Chong - 200FR broke 2:00 & 5-seconds drop in 50FLY Stella Daniels...
Congratulations Senior Two this past weekend. Overall, a solid weekend of racing with many best times. It was a little challenging to manage the on and off spurts of rain, and contend with a shifted 500 schedule, but you all made do! It is always great to see the older swimmers cheering on their younger counterparts, so I wanted to shoutout to Cullen, Joselyn, and Joelle for cheering behind the blocks cheering for other teammates! There were a good number of best times for Senior Two and Senior 3, 42%....

Paige Downey won the 1500 meter freestyle at the Junior National Championship in Irvine last week. Her time is the 7th fastest by an American this swim year. Gold Medal swimmers all achieved at least one best time on the way to a top 20 finish at the meet. The Junior Nationals brings together all the best 18 and under swimmers in the United States once a year. It is the most competitve meet in the United States, besides the Olympic Trials or other National qualifying events. The women's 800...
