We experienced highs and lows, just like every other meet; however, we demonstrated a great mindset in seeing opportunities regardless of what had happened in the past. A quote from a young man on a D1 basketball team worded it nicely when he said, “Can you be fully invested in the process without an emotional attachment to the result?” I still want to see all of you every day. I don’t care you didn't win. I don’t care that you made mistakes. I care that you showed up for yourself...

The MGK Odd Age meet was a last-hurrah of racing coming out of the high school season. There were some great races this weekend. The 1650 now has Delaney, Hadley, Joselyn, and Evan within striking distance from Sectionals. Many other races landed consistent with prior competitions. Let the outcome help fuel hard work from here to improve! The percentage of best times overall was 38%, but 58% of all races were within 1%. 70% of all times were within 2% of best times. Evan Cho – 6 BT (Avg −2.41%)...

Congratulations to all of our swimmers who participated in the MGK Invite at Scottsdale! Our swimmers continued to impress me with their maturity. They are showing up to the blocks race ready and it is showing in their results. Although we all like to see drops, I saw a lot of great things in strokes and details of races that may not lead to short term results but will in the long term! We want our swimmers to learn to race the right way with proper form and technique. A...

Pumpkin Patch was a solid showing. There were a few stellar performances and a few short of workout-based expectations. Something that both Mike and I are noticing is how well we are swimming these races. Being aggressive when we can, getting out to a first split that gives us a chance, and being consistent. I will shout out events from Pumpkin Patch and a few High school meet results. Myra Streit qualified for her first Winter Junior Nationals in the 1000 Free, dropping over 15 seconds. In her 500 split...

Senior 2, it was a tough-fought weekend of racing for the group, but overall very solid! High School competitions peppered the week prior to Pumpkin Patch for many, but despite the volume of race days, there were many great swims. Delaney got a Sectional Cut in the 50 Free, congrats! All best times from Hadley! Evan earned 6 of 7 best times, even with racing 5 days straight with a dual meet, invite, and SAC!! 6/7!!! Senior 3, although a small crew now, they showed up to race. Both dropped...

Blue: Two of the best things I noticed this past weekend. Very smart races. Clear and calm conversations immediately following races. I love it when you all come back and know what went on. Something that tells me you are thinking properly at practices and then translating to meets correctly. Do you remember what happened during your race? If yes, your brain was ready for that task and was able to slow it down in your mind. If not, we were not as prepared to race, and our brains couldn’t...

This weekend marked AG1’s first meet following recent group move-ups with continued momentum forward. Every swimmer showed up ready to work - warming up and warming down without hesitation, staying mindful of feedback, and maintaining growth-focused attitudes. Even when races didn’t go as planned, the group showed maturity by discussing ways to improve and carrying that focus into practice. This is especially important for young athletes to acknowledge that growth is not always quick or linear. We must honor the process and always continue to push forward! Many athletes stepped...

Another great meet at the Pumpkin Patch Splash for AG2! I am really impressed with the maturity our swimmers showed from warm up, to talking to coaches before and after races to even cooling down and warming up throughout the meet. Our group and our team is being noticed by other coaches and teams and I love that! We had 27 swimmers in the meet including 8 who did the 500 for the first time and 2 who did the 1000 for the first time! Congratulations again to our G.O.A.T...

AG1 Swimmer of the Month: Edward Cai This month’s Swimmer of the Month goes to Edward Cai, whose hard work, attitude, and leadership have truly stood out. Edward has been putting in the effort to challenge himself to go beyond his comfort zone, signing up for ‘tougher’ events and focusing on improving his weaker strokes during practice. His determination and willingness to take on challenges are a great example for his teammates. Edward is also a great teammate, consistently making an effort to include and encourage new swimmers in the...
