The following swimmers particpated in the dual meet between Arizona Swimming and San Diego Swimming in Yuma on January 4-5. Arizona Swimming won by over 400 points and Gold Medal swimmers were a big part of the victory. Congratulations to Leila Ross, our Blue December Swimmer of the Month! Leila's hard work over the past two months, combined with her willingness to learn and change, has resulted in significant improvement. Congratulations to Bruss Bowman, our Senior 2 Swimmer of the Month for December! Bruss had a great showing at the Tualatin Hills Holiday Classic, achieving five personal bests and coming close to a Sectionals cut in the 200 free. Senior One swimmers participated three meets in December. There were outstanding performances in all three meets. Junor Nationals Gold Medal had four women place in finals at the meet. The team placed 16th in women out of 64 teams. Paige Downey- second in the 1650 and fifth in the 500 free and 12th in the 400 IM all with best times. Paige was our high point swimmer!! December Swimmers of the Month Congratulations to our December swimmers of the month Meredith Ranes and Bennett Kelly! Both swimmers work hard everyday in practice and are also great leaders in their lanes, explaining sets and encouraging others. Our December Swimmer of the Month is Ryu Cheng! Ryu has shown incredible resilience and determination as he makes his return to swimming after an injury.
