October Swimmer of the Month: Lillian Fernandes Her consistency at practice was among the top 3 in our group for that month, only missing two practices. Not only is that great for the development of fitness, but it allowed her to truly learn how to build her way through swims and races. This is something that she has been working at so frequently, getting 1% better every day, but staying present in the task at hand. Virtually every practice, Lillian either asks or tells me what she can focus on....

Congratulations to all of our swimmers for an incredible fall of swimming! Our swimmers worked hard in practice and had excellent meets at the Pumpkin Patch Splash and MGK Invite. Cold weather swimming is not easy especially for this age group but our swimmers continued to push showing how strong they are. We have really been hitting drill work and technique hard the last 2 months and it is great to see how the kids lock in on that and work to improve! Here are a couple highlighted drops for...

Blue Swimmers of the Month: Delaney Holm and Declan Tierney! Delaney has been on fire! At the Pumpkin Patch meet, she recorded a best time in her 100 backstroke, dropping 4 seconds and qualifying for Senior State. She followed that up with another Senior State cut in the 1650 at the Maryanne McKeever Invite. Delaney has been focused on improving underwater, starts, and tempo. Congrats, Delaney! Declan achieved his first AG State time in the 1000 Free and had an impressive swim in his 1650. At the other 2 invites,...

Great meet AG1! I thought we did a great job of creating achievable goals and being willing to admit success or failure with them. As one of our own, Ella Wilson, told us on Monday: it’s not a failure unless you don’t learn from it. As young athletes, it's often hard to know what you can do in a race, at least in terms of dolphin kicks, fast turns, and things of that nature. I will continue to talk about goal setting and find ways to evolve it or create...

Congratulations to all of our swimmers for a fantastic first meet of the season at the Swimtember Invite! Our swimmers showed experience beyond their years focusing on the process of swimming fast. They warmed up on time and had proper focus. All of our swimmers spoke to me about their races and then were ready for their next race. Our swimmers were at the blocks on time! (thank you parents!) I saw things that we worked on in practice, especially IM transitions, body position, strong starts, and racing! Special congratulations...
