November Meet Highlights There were many great swims in November at a variety of meets. It was very hard to pick Swimmers of the Month with so many great swims. October Swimmer of the Month: Lillian Fernandes Her consistency at practice was among the top 3 in our group for that month, only missing two practices. Not only is that great for the development of fitness, but it allowed her to truly learn how to build her way through swims and races. This is something that she has been working at so frequently, getting 1% better every day, but staying present in the task at hand. Cold weather swimming is not easy especially for this age group but our swimmers continued to push showing how strong they are. Blue Swimmers of the Month: Delaney Holm and Declan Tierney! Delaney has been on fire! At the Pumpkin Patch meet, she recorded a best time in her 100 backstroke, dropping 4 seconds and qualifying for Senior State. S2 Swimmer of the Month: Dylan Lebedies Dylan has stepped up as a leader within S2 and pushes others to be they can be. Dylan is one of the first swimmers on the pool deck each day and can be found talking to other swimmers or coaches each day before practice. Great meet AG1! I thought we did a great job of creating achievable goals and being willing to admit success or failure with them. As one of our own, Ella Wilson, told us on Monday: it’s not a failure unless you don’t learn from it. As young athletes, it's often hard to know what you can do in a race, at least in terms of dolphin kicks, fast turns, and things of that nature. Congratulations to all of our swimmers for a fantastic first meet of the season at the Swimtember Invite! Our swimmers showed experience beyond their years focusing on the process of swimming fast.
