SENIOR PRE COMP


 

Group Focus:

The SENIOR PRE COMP groups are designated to prepare swimmers to swim leagal 50 yards of stroke and 100 IM. Swimmers will improve their stroke technique, their stroke conditioning. They will learn how to be part of the team, how to follow direction in a bigger group and how to turn feedback into positive changes. Swimmers will also learn use of a clock such as leaving 5s apart, using simple intervals such as :30/ 1:00/ 1:30/ 2:00. Starts and turns may be introduced in this group.

Requirements to enter the group:

  • Must be able to swim legal 25 yards of each stroke
  • Must be able to maintain positive attitude and behavior towards their teammates, coaches and any swimmer or adult associated with FAC (swimmers and parents)

Competition Attendance:

  • Candy meets are offered every 6-8 weeks
  • FAC Intrasquad meet in September
  • FAC Home Meets November and January

Required training Equipment:

  • Equipment bag, kick board, long fins, snorkel

 

Required Team Apparel:

  • Team suit, team cap, 2 team t-shirts, team hoodie. Team parka highly encouraged.

 


SENIOR NOVICE


Group Focus:

The SENIOR NOVICE group is designated to prepare swimmers to swim leagal 50 yards of stroke and 100 IM. Swimmers will improve their stroke technique, their stroke conditioning. They will learn how to be part of the team, how to follow direction in a bigger group and how to turn feedback into positive changes. PRE TEAM


 

Group Focus:

The PRE TEAM groups are designated to prepare swimmers for competitive swimming. Swimmers will improve their turns, starts and finishes. They will practice relay racing. Swimmers will also learn use of a clock such as leaving 5s apart, using simple intervals such as :30/ 1:00/ 1:30/ 2:00

Requirements to enter the group:

  • Must be able to swim legal 50 yards of each stroke starting with streamline
  • Must be able to understand distances (25/50/75/100 yards) and know how many laps that is
  • Must be able to participate in at least one candy meet
  • Must be able to participate in a group practice, pay attention and follow directions of the coach
  • Must be able to maintain positive attitude and behavior towards their teammates, coaches and any swimmer or adult associated with FAC (swimmers and parents)

Competition Attendance:

  • Candy meets are offered every 6-8 weeks
  • FAC Intrasquad meet in September
  • FAC Home Meets November and January
  • Swimmers in this group may be offered the opportunity to attend official swim meets
