Many fantastic swims today! Some other swims were great to start with but ended up being out-touched....we'll have to get cracking on the finishes to move up in placings for day 3..... Strong swimming out of the crew in prelims leads to a good showing for finals. 200 free finals first with Sherry up who aggressively stalked the lead but settled for 8th in a tight race for 4th that had half second between four swimmers. Great final swims from our crew who are building momentum thought the meet. 100 free started the night with Sherry Liu in the B final who came in third with best time 58.18. 200 flyers took to the water where Abi Sayer who set the club record in the morning ended up 7th adding a bit of time. Great evening swims with the 400 IM crew leading the way. Abi Sayer went a best time to come 6th at 459.07 and Sherry Liu with a great final 100 came in for bronze. Stefan Milosevic improved a total of 14 seconds to claim silver with 422.91. This is a new club record The girls 400 Fr relay was great too with all girls stepping up and going personal bests. Today started with the 8/1500 where Igor Gasovic Varga, Stefan Milosevic and Inder Pooni all swam to best times in the 800 and Mia Bottrill went best time at 200/400/800 of her best time 1500. Sherry Liu won a bronze in the event. The 50's were next and Igor,Justin were BT in fly and Jasmine in Breast. Both the girls and boys 800 free relays were solid swims.
Day 3 finals proved to be as exhilarating as the first 2. We started off with Jakob swimming in the 200 back swim-off. He had gone a 3 second best time in the morning but it was only good enough to tie for 8th place. So, it was him and another swimmer, heads up, one on one, man to man.
